PSALM 64
Prayer for Deliverance from Secret Enemies.
For the choir director. A Psalm of David.
1Hear my voice, O God, in amy 1complaint;
bPreserve my life from dread of the enemy.
2Hide me from the asecret counsel of evildoers,
From the tumult of bthose who do iniquity,
3Who ahave sharpened their tongue like a sword.
They baimed bitter speech as their arrow,
4To ashoot 1from concealment at the blameless;
Suddenly they shoot at him, and bdo not fear.
5They 1hold fast to themselves an evil purpose;
They 2talk of alaying snares secretly;
They say, “bWho can see them?”
6They 1devise injustices, saying,
“We are 2ready with a well-conceived plot”;
For the 3ainward thought and the heart of a man are 4deep.
7But aGod 1will shoot at them with an arrow;
Suddenly 2they will be wounded.
8So 1they 2will amake him stumble;
bTheir own tongue is against them;
All who see them will cshake the head.
And they 2will bdeclare the work of God,
And 3will consider 4what He has done.
10The righteous man will be aglad in the Lord and will btake refuge in Him;
And all the upright in heart will glory.
PSALM 65
God’s Abundant Favor to Earth and Man.
For the choir director. A Psalm of David. A Song.
1There will be silence 1before You, and praise in Zion, O God,
And to You the avow will be performed.
2O You who hear prayer,
31aIniquities prevail against me;
As for our transgressions, You 2bforgive them.
4How ablessed is the one whom You bchoose and bring near to You
To dwell in Your courts.
We will be csatisfied with the goodness of Your house,
Your holy temple.
5By aawesome deeds You answer us in righteousness, O bGod of our salvation,
You who are the trust of all the cends of the earth and of the farthest 1dsea;
6Who aestablishes the mountains by His strength,
Being bgirded with might;
7Who astills the roaring of the seas,
The roaring of their waves,
And the btumult of the peoples.
8They who dwell in the aends of the earth stand in awe of Your signs;
You make the 1dawn and the sunset shout for joy.
9You visit the earth and acause it to overflow;
You greatly benrich it;
The 1cstream of God is full of water;
You prepare their dgrain, for thus You prepare 2the earth.
10You water its furrows abundantly,
You 1settle its ridges,
You soften it awith showers,
You bless its growth.
11You have crowned the year 1with Your 2abounty,
And Your 3paths bdrip with fatness.
12aThe pastures of the wilderness drip,
And the bhills gird themselves with rejoicing.
13The meadows are aclothed with flocks
And the valleys are bcovered with grain;
They cshout for joy, yes, they sing.
