PSALM 33
Praise to the Creator and Preserver.
1aSing for joy in the Lord, O you righteous ones;
Praise is bbecoming to the upright.
2Give thanks to the Lord with the alyre;
Sing praises to Him with a bharp of ten strings.
3Sing to Him a anew song;
Play skillfully with ba shout of joy.
4For the word of the Lord ais upright,
And all His work is done bin faithfulness.
5He aloves righteousness and justice;
The bearth is full of the lovingkindness of the Lord.
6By the aword of the Lord the heavens were made,
And bby the breath of His mouth call their host.
7He gathers the awaters of the sea together 1as a heap;
He lays up the deeps in storehouses.
8Let aall the earth fear the Lord;
Let all the inhabitants of the world bstand in awe of Him.
9For aHe spoke, and it was done;
He commanded, and it 1stood fast.
10The Lord anullifies the counsel of the nations;
He frustrates the plans of the peoples.
11The acounsel of the Lord stands forever,
The bplans of His heart from generation to generation.
12Blessed is the anation whose God is the Lord,
The people whom He has bchosen for His own inheritance.
13The Lord alooks from heaven;
He bsees all the sons of men;
14From aHis dwelling place He looks out
On all the inhabitants of the earth,
15He who afashions 1the hearts of them all,
He who bunderstands all their works.
16aThe king is not saved by a mighty army;
A warrior is not delivered by great strength.
17A ahorse is a false hope for victory;
Nor does it deliver anyone by its great strength.
18Behold, athe eye of the Lord is on those who fear Him,
On those who 1bhope for His lovingkindness,
19To adeliver their soul from death
And to keep them alive bin famine.
20Our soul awaits for the Lord;
He is our bhelp and our shield.
21For our aheart rejoices in Him,
Because we trust in His holy name.
22Let Your lovingkindness, O Lord, be upon us,
According as we have 1hoped in You.
PSALM 34
The Lord, a Provider and Deliverer.
A Psalm of David when he †feigned madness before •Abimelech, who drove him away and he departed.
1I will abless the Lord at all times;
His bpraise shall continually be in my mouth.
2My soul will amake its boast in the Lord;
The bhumble will hear it and rejoice.
3O amagnify the Lord with me,
And let us bexalt His name together.
4I asought the Lord, and He answered me,
And bdelivered me from all my fears.
5They alooked to Him and were radiant,
And their faces will bnever be ashamed.
6This 1poor man cried, and athe Lord heard him
And saved him out of all his troubles.
7The aangel of the Lord encamps around those who fear Him,
And rescues them.
8O ataste and see that the Lord is good;
How bblessed is the man who takes refuge in Him!
9O fear the Lord, you aHis saints;
For to those who fear Him there is bno want.
10The young lions do lack and suffer hunger;
But they who seek the Lord shall anot be in want of any good thing.
11aCome, you children, listen to me;
bI will teach you cthe fear of the Lord.
12aWho is the man who desires life
And loves length of days that he may bsee good?
13Keep ayour tongue from evil
And your lips from speaking bdeceit.
14aDepart from evil and do good;
Seek peace and bpursue it.
15The aeyes of the Lord are toward the righteous
And His ears are open to their cry.
16The aface of the Lord is against evildoers,
To bcut off the memory of them from the earth.
17The righteous acry, and the Lord hears
And delivers them out of all their troubles.
18The Lord ais near to the bbrokenhearted
And saves those who are 1ccrushed in spirit.
19aMany are the bafflictions of the righteous,
But the Lord cdelivers him out of them all.
20He keeps all his bones,
aNot one of them is broken.
21aEvil shall slay the wicked,
And those who hate the righteous will be 1condemned.
22The Lord aredeems the soul of His servants,
And none of those who btake refuge in Him will be 1condemned.
