Psalm 33
1Rejoice ain the Lord, O ye righteous:
For bpraise is comely for the upright.
2Praise the Lord with charp:
Sing unto him with the cpsaltery dand an instrument of ten strings.
3Sing unto him ea new song;
Play skilfully fwith a loud noise.
4For the word of the Lord is right;
And all his works are done ffin truth.
5gHe loveth righteousness and judgment:
hThe earth is full of the ||goodness of the Lord.
6iBy the word of the Lord were the heavens made;
And kall the host of them lby the breath of his mouth.
7He gathereth the waters of the sea together mas an heap:
nHe layeth up the depth in storehouses.
8Let all the earth fear the Lord:
Let all the inhabitants of the world stand in awe of him.
9For ohe spake, and it was done;
He commanded, and it stood fast.
10pThe Lord †bringeth the counsel of the heathen to nought:
He maketh the devices of the people of none effect.
11qThe counsel of the Lord standeth for ever,
The thoughts of his heart †to all generations.
12rBlessed is the nation whose God is the Lord;
And the people whom he hath schosen for his own inheritance.
13tThe Lord looketh from heaven;
He beholdeth all the sons of men.
14From uthe place of his habitation he wlooketh
Upon all the inhabitants of the earth.
15He fashioneth their hearts alike;
xHe wconsidereth all their works.
16yThere is no king saved by the multitude of an host:
A mighty man is not delivered by much strength.
17zAn horse is a vain thing for safety:
Neither shall he deliver any by his great strength.
18Behold, athe eye of the Lord is upon them that fear him,
bUpon them that hope in his mercy;
19cTo deliver their soul from death,
And to keep them alive din famine.
20eOur soul fwaiteth for the Lord:
He is gour help and our shield.
21For our hheart shall rejoice in him,
Because we have itrusted in his holy name.
22Let thy mercy, O Lord, be upon us,
According as we bhope in thee.
Psalm 34
A Psalm of David, when ahe changed his behaviour before ||Abimelech; who bdrove him away, and bhe departed.
1I will bless the Lord cat all times:
His praise shall continually be in my mouth.
2dMy soul shall emake her boast in the Lord:
The humble shall hear thereof, and eebe glad.
3O fmagnify the Lord with me,
And let us exalt his name together.
4I gsought the Lord, and he hheard me,
And delivered me from all my fears.
5They looked unto him, and ||were lightened:
And their faces were not ashamed.
6This poor man hcried, and the Lord heard him,
And isaved him out of all his troubles.
7kThe angel of the Lord lencampeth
Round about them that fear him, and delivereth them.
8O mtaste and see that mmthe Lord is good:
nBlessed is the man that otrusteth in him.
9O fear the Lord, ye his saints:
For there is no want to them that fear him.
10pThe young lions do lack, and suffer hunger:
But qthey that seek the Lord shall not want any good thing.
11qqCome, ye children, hearken unto me:
I will teach you the fear of the Lord.
12rWhat man is he that desireth life,
And loveth many days, that he may ssee good?
13tKeep thy tongue from evil,
And thy lips from uspeaking guile.
14wDepart from evil, and do good;
Seek peace, and xpursue it.
15yThe eyes of the Lord are upon the righteous,
And zhis ears are open unto their cry.
16aThe face of the Lord is against them that do evil,
bTo cut off the remembrance of them from the earth.
17bbThe righteous cry, and cthe Lord heareth,
cAnd delivereth them out of all their troubles.
18dThe Lord is nigh †unto them that are of a ebroken heart;
And saveth such as be †of a contrite spirit.
19fMany are the afflictions of the righteous:
gBut the Lord delivereth him out of them all.
20He keepeth all his bones:
hNot one of them is broken.
21iEvil shall slay the wicked:
And they that hate the righteous ||shall be desolate.
22*The Lord kredeemeth the soul of his servants:
And none of them that trust in him ||shall be desolate.
