PSALM 134

Greetings of Night Watchers.

A Song of Ascents.

1Behold, abless the Lord, all bservants of the Lord,

Who 1cserve dby night in the house of the Lord!

2aLift up your hands to the bsanctuary

And bless the Lord.

3May the Lord abless you from Zion,

He who bmade heaven and earth.

PSALM 135

Praise the Lord’s Wonderful Works. Vanity of Idols.

11aPraise 2the Lord!

Praise the name of the Lord;

Praise Him, O bservants of the Lord,

2You who stand in the house of the Lord,

In the acourts of the house of our God!

31Praise 2the Lord, for athe Lord is good;

bSing praises to His name, cfor it is lovely.

4For 1the Lord has achosen Jacob for Himself,

Israel for His 2bown possession.

5For I know that athe Lord is great

And that our Lord is babove all gods.

6aWhatever the Lord pleases, He does,

In heaven and in earth, in the seas and in all deeps.

71He acauses the 2vapors to ascend from the ends of the earth;

Who bmakes lightnings for the rain,

Who brings forth the wind from His treasuries.

81He asmote the firstborn of Egypt,

2Both of man and beast.

91He sent asigns and wonders into your midst, O Egypt,

Upon bPharaoh and all his servants.

101aHe bsmote many nations

And slew mighty kings,

11aSihon, king of the Amorites,

And bOg, king of Bashan,

And call the kingdoms of Canaan;

12And He agave their land as a heritage,

A heritage to Israel His people.

13Your aname, O Lord, is everlasting,

Your 1remembrance, O Lord, 2throughout all generations.

14For the Lord will ajudge His people

And bwill have compassion on His servants.

15The aidols of the nations are but silver and gold,

The work of man’s hands.

16They have mouths, but they do not speak;

They have eyes, but they do not see;

17They have ears, but they do not hear,

Nor is there any breath at all in their mouths.

18Those who make them will be like them,

Yes, everyone who trusts in them.

19O house of aIsrael, bless the Lord;

O house of Aaron, bless the Lord;

20O house of Levi, bless the Lord;

You awho 1revere the Lord, bless the Lord.

21Blessed be the Lord afrom Zion,

Who bdwells in Jerusalem.

1Praise 2the Lord!

PSALM 136

Thanks for the Lord’s Goodness to Israel.

1aGive thanks to the Lord, for bHe is good,

For cHis lovingkindness is everlasting.

2Give thanks to the aGod of gods,

For His lovingkindness is everlasting.

3Give thanks to the aLord of lords,

For His lovingkindness is everlasting.

4To Him who aalone does great 1wonders,

For His lovingkindness is everlasting;

5To Him who amade the heavens 1bwith skill,

For His lovingkindness is everlasting;

6To Him who aspread out the earth above the waters,

For His lovingkindness is everlasting;

7To Him who amade the great lights,

For His lovingkindness is everlasting:

8The asun to rule 1by day,

For His lovingkindness is everlasting,

9The amoon and stars to rule 1by night,

For His lovingkindness is everlasting.

10To Him who asmote 1the Egyptians in their firstborn,

For His lovingkindness is everlasting,

11And abrought Israel out from their midst,

For His lovingkindness is everlasting,

12With a astrong hand and an boutstretched arm,

For His lovingkindness is everlasting.

13To Him who adivided the 1Red Sea 2asunder,

For His lovingkindness is everlasting,

14And amade Israel pass through the midst of it,

For His lovingkindness is everlasting;

15But aHe 1overthrew Pharaoh and his army in the 2Red Sea,

For His lovingkindness is everlasting.

16To Him who aled His people through the wilderness,

For His lovingkindness is everlasting;

17To Him who asmote great kings,

For His lovingkindness is everlasting,

18And aslew 1mighty kings,

For His lovingkindness is everlasting:

19aSihon, king of the Amorites,

For His lovingkindness is everlasting,

20And aOg, king of Bashan,

For His lovingkindness is everlasting,

21And agave their land as a heritage,

For His lovingkindness is everlasting,

22Even a heritage to Israel His aservant,

For His lovingkindness is everlasting.

23Who aremembered us in our low estate,

For His lovingkindness is everlasting,

24And has arescued us from our adversaries,

For His lovingkindness is everlasting;

25Who agives food to all flesh,

For His lovingkindness is everlasting.

26Give thanks to the aGod of heaven,

For His lovingkindness is everlasting.

PSALM 137

An Experience of the Captivity.

1By the arivers of Babylon,

There we sat down and bwept,

When we remembered Zion.

2Upon the 1awillows in the midst of it

We bhung our 2harps.

3For there our captors 1ademanded of us 2songs,

And bour tormentors mirth, saying,

“Sing us one of the songs of Zion.”

4How can we sing athe Lord’s song

In a foreign land?

5If I aforget you, O Jerusalem,

May my right hand 1forget her skill.

6May my atongue cling to the roof of my mouth

If I do not remember you,

If I do not 1bexalt Jerusalem

Above my chief joy.

7Remember, O Lord, against the sons of aEdom

The day of Jerusalem,

Who said, “Raze it, raze it

bTo its very foundation.”

8O daughter of Babylon, you 1adevastated one,

How blessed will be the one who brepays you

With 2the recompense with which you have repaid us.

9How blessed will be the one who seizes and adashes your little ones

Against the rock.
