1Let aGod arise, let his enemies bbe scattered:

Let them also that hate him flee †before him.

2cAs smoke is driven away, so drive them away:

dAs wax melteth before the fire,

So let the wicked perish at the presence of God.

3But let ethe righteous be glad; let them rejoice before God:

Yea, let them †exceedingly rejoice.

4Sing unto God, fsing praises to his name:

gExtol him that rideth upon the heavens

By his name hJAH, and rejoice before him.

5A ifather of the fatherless, and a judge of the widows,

Is God in his holy habitation.

6God ksetteth the lsolitary †in families:

mHe bringeth out those which are bound with chains:

But nthe rebellious odwell in a dry land.

7O God, pwhen thou wentest forth before thy people,

qWhen thou didst march through rthe wilderness; Selah:

8qThe earth shook, the heavens also dropped

At the presence of God: even sSinai itself was moved

At the presence of God, the God of Israel.

9tThou, O God, didst †send a plentiful rain,

Whereby thou didst †confirm thine inheritance, when it was weary.

10Thy ucongregation hath dwelt therein:

Thou, O God, hast wprepared of thy goodness for the poor.

11The Lord gave the word:

Great was the †company of those that published it.

12xKings of armies †did flee apace:

And yshe that tarried at home zdivided the spoil.

13Though ye have lien among athe pots,

Yet shall ye be as the bwings of a dove covered with silver,

And her bfeathers with yellow gold.

14When the Almighty cscattered kings ||in it,

It was white as snow in dSalmon.

15The hill of God is as the hill of Bashan;

An high hill as the hill of Bashan.

16Why eleap ye, ye high hills?

This is fthe hill gwhich God desireth to dwell in;

Yea, the Lord will dwell in it for ever.

17hThe chariots of God are itwenty thousand, ||even thousands of angels:

The Lord is among them, as in Sinai, in the holy place.

18kThou hast ascended on high, lthou hast led captivity captive:

mThou hast received gifts †for men;

Yea, for nthe rebellious also, othat the pLord God might dwell among them.

19Blessed be the Lord,

Who daily loadeth us with benefits,

Even the God of our salvation. Selah.

20He that is our God is the God of salvation;

And qunto God the Lord belong rthe issues from death.

21But sGod shall wound the head of his enemies,

And the hairy scalp of such an one as goeth on still in his trespasses.

22The Lord said, I will bring tagain from Bashan,

I will bring my people again ufrom the depths of the sea:

23xThat thy foot may be ||dipped in the blood of thine enemies,

And ythe tongue of thy dogs in the same.

24They have seen thy goings, O God;

Even the goings of my God, my King, in the sanctuary.

25zThe singers went before, athe players on instruments followed after;

Among them were the damsels bplaying with timbrels.

26cBless ye God in the congregations,

Even the Lord, ||from dthe fountain of Israel.

27There is elittle Benjamin with their ruler,

The princes of Judah ||and their council,

fThe princes of Zebulun, and the princes of Naphtali.

28Thy God hath gcommanded thy strength:

Strengthen, O God, that which thou hast wrought for us.

29Because of thy temple at Jerusalem

hShall kings ibring presents unto thee.

30kRebuke ||the lcompany of spearmen,

The multitude of mthe bulls, with the calves of the people,

Till every one nsubmit himself with pieces of silver:

||Scatter thou the people that delight in war.

31Princes shall come oout of pEgypt;

pqEthiopia shall soon stretch out her hands unto God.

32Sing unto God, rye kingdoms of the earth;

O sing praises unto the Lord; Selah:

33To him that srideth upon tthe heavens of heavens, which were of old;

Lo, uhe doth †send out his voice, and that a mighty voice.

34vAscribe ye strength unto God:

His excellency is over Israel,

And whis strength is in the ||xclouds.

35O God, thou art yterrible zout of thy holy places:

The God of Israel is he

That giveth strength and power unto his people.

Blessed be God.

Psalm 69

To the chief Musician *upon Shoshannim, A Psalm of †David.

1Save me, O God; for athe waters are come in bunto my soul.

2acI sink in †deep mire, where there is no standing:

I am come into †deep waters, where ethe floods eeoverflow me.

3fI am weary of my crying: my throat is dried:

gMine eyes fail hwhile I wait for my God.

4iThey that hate me without a cause jare more than the hairs of mine head:

They that would destroy me, being mine enemies wrongfully, are mighty:

kThen I restored that which I took not away.

5O God, thou knowest my foolishness;

And my †sins are not hid from thee.

6Let not them that wait on thee, O Lord God of hosts, be ashamed for my sake:

Let not those that seek thee be confounded for my sake, O God of Israel.

7Because lfor thy sake I have borne reproach;

Shame hath covered my face.

8I mam become a stranger unto nmy brethren,

And an alien unto my mother’s children.

9For othe zeal of thine house hath eaten me up;

And pthe reproaches of them that reproached thee are fallen upon me.

10When I wept, and chastened qmy soul with fasting,

That was to my reproach.

11I made qrsackcloth also my garment;

And I became sa proverb to them.

12They that sit in the gate speak against me;

And I was the tsong of the †drunkards.

13But as for me, umy prayer is unto thee, O Lord, win an acceptable time:

O God, in the multitude of thy mercy hear me, in the truth of thy salvation.

14Deliver me xout of the mire, and let me not ysink:

zLet me be delivered from them that hate me, and out of the ydeep waters.

15Let not the awaterflood overflow me,

Neither let athe deep swallow me up,

And let not bthe pit cshut her mouth upon me.

16Hear me, O Lord; dfor thy lovingkindness is good:

eTurn unto me faccording to the multitude of thy tender mercies.

17And ghide not thy face from thy servant;

For I ham in trouble: †ihear me speedily.

18Draw nigh unto my soul, and redeem it:

Deliver me because of mine enemies.

19Thou hast known jmy reproach, and kmy shame, and my dishonour:

Mine adversaries are all before thee.

20Reproach hath broken my heart; and lI am full of heaviness:

And mI looked for some †to take pity, but there was none;

And for ncomforters, but I found none.

21They gave me also ogall for my meat;

And pin my thirst they gave me qvinegar to drink.

22rLet their stable become a snare before them:

And that which should have been for their welfare, let it become a trap.

23tLet their eyes be darkened, that they see not;

And umake their loins continually to shake.

24Pour out thine indignation upon them,

And let thy wrathful anger take hold of them.

25xLet y†their habitation be desolate;

And †let none dwell in their tents.

26For zthey persecute ahim whom thou hast smitten;

And they btalk to the grief of †those whom thou hast wounded.

27cAdd ||iniquity unto their iniquity:

And let them not come into thy righteousness.

28Let them be blotted out of dthe book of the living,

And not be ewritten with the righteous.

29But I am poor and sorrowful:

Let thy salvation, O God, fset me up on high.

30I will praise the name of God with a song,

And will gmagnify him with hthanksgiving.

31hThis also shall please the Lord better than an ox

Or bullock that hath horns and ihoofs.

32The k||humble shall see this, and be glad:

And lyour heart shall live that seek God.

33For the Lord heareth the poor,

And mdespiseth not his prisoners.

34nLet the heaven and earth praise him,

The seas, and every thing that †moveth therein.

35oFor God will save Zion,

And will build the cities of Judah:

That they may dwell there, and phave it in possession.

36qThe seed also of rhis servants shall inherit it:

And pthey that love his name shall sdwell therein.

Psalm 70

To the chief Musician, A Psalm of David, *to bring to remembrance.

1Make haste, aO God, to deliver me;

Make haste †to help me, O Lord.

2Let them be ashamed and confounded that seek after my soul:

Let them be turned backward, and bput to confusion, bthat desire my hurt.

3Let them cbe turned back for a reward of their shame

That say, Aha, aha.

4Let all those that seek thee rejoice and be glad in thee:

And let such as love thy salvation say continually, Let God be magnified.

5But I am poor and needy: dmake haste unto me, O God:

Thou art my help and my deliverer;

O Lord, make no tarrying.
