PSALM 106

Remember Me, O Yahweh

11Praise Yah!

Oh agive thanks to Yahweh, for He bis good;

For cHis lovingkindness endures forever.

2Who can speak of the amighty deeds of Yahweh,

Or can make all His praise to be heard?

3How blessed are those who keep 1justice,

2And he who adoes righteousness at all times!

4Remember me, O Yahweh, in Your afavor 1toward Your people;

Visit me with Your salvation,

5That I may see the agoodness of Your chosen ones,

That I may brejoice in the gladness of Your nation,

That I may cboast with Your 1inheritance.

6aWe have sinned bwith our fathers,

We have committed iniquity, we have acted wickedly.

7Our fathers in Egypt did not consider Your wondrous deeds;

They adid not remember Your abundant lovingkindnesses,

But they brebelled by the sea, at the 1Red Sea.

8Yet He saved them afor the sake of His name,

That He might bmake His might known.

9Thus He arebuked the 1Red Sea and it bdried up,

And He cled them through the deeps, as through the wilderness.

10So He asaved them from the 1hand of the one who hated them,

And bredeemed them from the 2hand of the enemy.

11aThe waters covered their adversaries;

Not one of them was left.

12Then they abelieved His words;

They bsang His praise.

13They quickly aforgot His works;

They bdid not wait for His counsel,

14But acraved intensely in the wilderness,

And bput God to the test in the wasteland.

15So He agave them their request,

But bsent a 1wasting disease against their lives.

16Then they became aenvious of Moses in the camp,

And of Aaron, the holy one of Yahweh,

17The aearth opened and swallowed up Dathan,

And covered up the 1company of Abiram.

18And a afire burned up in their company;

The flame consumed the wicked.

19They amade a calf in Horeb

And worshiped a molten image.

20Thus they aexchanged their glory

For the image of an ox that eats grass.

21They aforgot God their Savior,

Who had done bgreat things in Egypt,

22aWondrous deeds in the land of Ham

And awesome things by the 1Red Sea.

23Therefore aHe said that He would destroy them,

Had not bMoses His chosen one stood in the breach before Him,

To turn away His wrath from 1eradicating them.

24Then they adespised the bpleasant land;

They cdid not believe in His word,

25But agrumbled in their tents;

They did not listen to the voice of Yahweh.

26So He 1aswore to them

To make them fall in the wilderness,

27And to amake their seed fall among the nations

And to bscatter them in the lands.

28They then ajoined themselves to 1Baal-peor,

And ate bsacrifices offered to the dead.

29Thus they aprovoked Him to anger with their actions,

And the plague broke out among them.

30Then Phinehas astood up and interceded,

And so the bplague was checked.

31And it was acounted to him for righteousness,

From generation to generation forever.

32They also aprovoked Him to wrath at the waters of 1Meribah,

So that it bwent badly with Moses on their account;

33Because they awere rebellious against 1His Spirit,

He spoke rashly with his lips.

34They adid not destroy the peoples,

As bYahweh commanded them,

35But athey mingled with the nations

And learned their works,

36And aserved their idols,

bWhich became a snare to them.

37They asacrificed their sons and their daughters to the bdemons,

38And they shed ainnocent blood,

The blood of their bsons and their daughters,

Whom they sacrificed to the idols of Canaan;

And the land was cpolluted with the blood.

39Thus they became aunclean in their works,

And bplayed the harlot in their actions.

40So the aanger of Yahweh was kindled against His people

And He babhorred His 1cinheritance.

41Then aHe gave them into the hand of the 1nations,

And those who hated them ruled over them.

42Their enemies aoppressed them,

And they were subdued under their hand.

43Many times He would adeliver them;

But they were rebellious in their bcounsel,

And so they csank down in their iniquity.

44Nevertheless He looked upon their distress

When He aheard their cry of lamentation;

45And He aremembered for them His covenant,

And 1brelented caccording to the abundance of His lovingkindness.

46He also made them aobjects of compassion

In the presence of all their captors.

47aSave us, O Yahweh our God,

And bgather us from among the nations,

To give thanks to Your holy name

And crevel in Your praise.

48aBlessed be Yahweh, the God of Israel,

From everlasting to everlasting.

And let all the people say, “Amen.”

1Praise Yah!

PSALM 107

Yahweh Saves in Times of Trouble

1Oh agive thanks to Yahweh, for bHe is good,

For His lovingkindness endures forever.

2Let athe redeemed of Yahweh say so,

Whom He has bredeemed from the hand of the adversary

3And agathered from the lands,

From the east and from the west,

From the north and from the 1south.

4They awandered in the wilderness along the way of the wasteland;

They did not find an inhabited bcity.

5Hungry 1and thirsty,

Their asoul fainted within them.

6Then they acried out to Yahweh in their trouble;

He delivered them out of their distresses.

7He led them by a 1astraight way,

To go to ban inhabited city.

8aLet them give thanks to Yahweh for His lovingkindness,

And for His wondrous deeds to the sons of men!

9For He has asatisfied the 1thirsty soul,

And the bhungry soul He has filled with what is good.

10There were those who ainhabited darkness and the shadow of death,

bPrisoners in affliction and irons,

11Because they had arebelled against the words of God

And bspurned the ccounsel of the Most High.

12So He subdued their heart with labor;

They stumbled and there was anone to help.

13Then they acried out to Yahweh in their trouble;

He saved them out of their distresses.

14He abrought them out of darkness and the shadow of death

And bbroke their bands apart.

15aLet them give thanks to Yahweh for His lovingkindness,

And for His wondrous deeds to the sons of men!

16For He has ashattered the doors of bronze

And cut through the bars of iron.

171Ignorant fools, because of their way of transgression,

And abecause of their iniquities, were afflicted.

18Their asoul abhorred all kinds of food,

And they breached the cgates of death.

19Then they cried out to Yahweh in their trouble;

He saved them out of their distresses.

20He asent His word and bhealed them,

And cprovided them escape from their 1destructions.

21aLet them give thanks to Yahweh for His lovingkindness,

And for His wondrous deeds to the sons of men!

22Let them also offer asacrifices of thanksgiving,

And brecount His works with joyful singing.

23Those who ago down to the sea in ships,

Who do business on many waters;

24They have seen the works of Yahweh,

And His wondrous deeds in the deep.

25He aspoke and set up a bstormy wind,

Which craised up the waves 1of the sea.

26They went up to the heavens, they went down to the depths;

Their soul amelted away in the 1calamity.

27They staggered and aswayed like a drunken man,

And all their wisdom was swallowed up.

28Then they cried to Yahweh in their trouble,

And He brought them out of their distresses.

29He acaused the storm to stand still,

So that its waves were hushed.

30Then they were glad because they were quiet,

So He led them to their desired haven.

31aLet them give thanks to Yahweh for His lovingkindness,

And for His bwondrous deeds to the sons of men!

32Let them aexalt Him also bin the assembly of the people,

And cpraise Him at the seat of the elders.

33He 1amakes rivers into a 2wilderness

And springs of water into a thirsty ground;

34A afruitful land into a bsalt waste,

Because of the evil of those who inhabited it.

35He amakes a wilderness into a pool of water

And a dry land into springs of water;

36And there He causes the hungry to inhabit,

So that they may establish aan inhabited city,

37And sow fields and aplant vineyards,

And produce a fruitful harvest.

38Also He blesses them and they amultiply greatly,

And He bdoes not let their cattle decrease.

39But when they adecrease and are bbowed down

Through oppression, evil, and sorrow,

40He apours contempt upon nobles

And bmakes them wander cin a pathless void.

41But He asets the needy 1securely on high away from affliction,

And bmakes his families like a flock.

42The aupright see it and are glad;

But all bunrighteousness shuts its mouth.

43Who is awise? Let him keep these things,

And carefully consider the blovingkindnesses of Yahweh.
