11And there shall come forth aa rod out of bthe stem of cJesse,
And da Branch shall grow out of ehis roots:
2And fthe spirit of the Lord shall rest upon him,
gThe spirit of wisdom and understanding,
The spirit of counsel and might,
The spirit of knowledge and of the fear of the Lord;
3And shall make him of †quick understanding in the fear of the Lord:
And hhe shall not judge after ithe sight of his eyes,
Neither reprove after the hearing of his ears:
4But kwith righteousness shall he judge the poor,
And ||reprove with equity for the meek of the earth:
And he shall lsmite the earth with the rod of his mouth,
And mwith the breath of his lips nshall he slay the wicked.
5And orighteousness pshall be the girdle of his loins,
And faithfulness the girdle of his reins.
6qThe wolf also shall dwell with the lamb,
And rthe leopard shall lie down with the kid;
And the calf and rrthe young lion and the fatling together;
And a little child shall lead them.
7And the cow and the bear shall feed;
Their young ones shall lie down together:
And qsthe lion shall eat straw like the ox.
8And the sucking child shall play on the hole of ssthe asp,
And the weaned child shall put his hand on the ||cockatrice’ den.
9qtThey shall not hurt nor destroy in all umy holy mountain:
vFor the earth shall be full of the knowledge of the Lord,
As the waters cover the sea.
10And win that day xthere shall be ya root of Jesse,
Which shall stand for zan ensign of the people;
To it shall the Gentiles seek:
And ahis rest shall be †glorious.
11And it shall come to pass win that day,
That the Lord shall set his hand again the second time
To recover the remnant of his people,
aaWhich shall be left, bfrom Assyria,
And bfrom Egypt, and from cPathros,
And from dCush, and from eElam, and from fShinar,
And from gHamath, and from hthe islands of the sea.
12And ihe shall set up jan ensign for the nations,
And shall assemble kthe outcasts of Israel,
And lgather together mthe dispersed of Judah
From the four †corners of the earth.
13nThe envy also of Ephraim shall depart,
And the adversaries of Judah shall be cut off:
Ephraim shall not envy Judah,
And Judah shall not vex Ephraim.
14But they shall fly upon othe shoulders of pthe Philistines toward the west;
They shall spoil †them of the east together:
q†They shall lay their hand upon rEdom and sMoab;
qAnd †the children of stAmmon ushall obey them.
15And the Lord vshall utterly destroy xthe tongue of the Egyptian sea;
And with his mighty wind shall he yshake his hand over zthe river,
And shall smite it in the seven streams,
And amake men go over †dryshod.
16And bthere shall be can highway for the remnant of his people,
dWhich shall be left, from Assyria;
eLike as it was to Israel
In the day that he came up out of the land of Egypt.
12And ain that day thou shalt say,
O Lord, I will praise thee: though thou wast angry with me,
Thine anger is turned away, and thou comfortedst me.
2Behold, bGod is my salvation;
I will trust, and not be afraid:
For the cLord JEHOVAH is my dstrength and my song;
He also is become my salvation.
3Therefore ewith joy shall ye draw water out of the wells of salvation.
4And ain that day shall ye say,
fPraise the Lord, ||fcall upon his name,
fgDeclare his doings among the people,
Make mention that hhis name is iexalted.
5kSing unto the Lord; for he hath done excellent things:
This is known in all the earth.
6lCry out and lmshout, thou †inhabitant of Zion:
For great is nthe Holy One of Israel oin the midst of thee.
13*The aburden of bBabylon, cwhich Isaiah the son of Amoz did see.
2dLift ye up a banner eupon the fhigh mountain,
Exalt the voice unto them, gshake the hand,
That they may go into the gates of the nobles.
3I have commanded hmy sanctified ones,
I have also called imy mighty ones for mine anger,
Even them kthat lrejoice in my highness.
4The noise of la multitude in the mountains, †like as of a great people;
lA tumultuous noise of the kingdoms of nations gathered together:
The Lord of hosts mustereth the host of the battle.
5mThey come from a far country, from the end of heaven,
Even the Lord, and the weapons of his indignation,
nTo destroy the whole land.
6oHowl ye; pqfor the day of the Lord is at hand;
qIt shall come ras a destruction from the Almighty.
7Therefore shall all hands ||be faint,
And every man’s sheart shall melt:
8And they shall be afraid: tpangs and usorrows shall take hold of them;
uvThey shall be in pain as a woman that travaileth:
They shall †be amazed †one at another;
Their faces shall be as †flames.
9Behold, wthe day of the Lord cometh,
Cruel both with xwrath and fierce anger,
To lay the land desolate:
And xxhe shall destroy the sinners thereof out of it.
10For the stars of heaven and ythe constellations thereof shall not zgive their light:
aThe sun shall be darkened in his going forth,
And athe moon shall not cause her light to shine.
11And I will bpunish the world for their evil,
And the wicked for their iniquity;
And I will ccause the arrogancy of the proud to cease,
And will dlay low the haughtiness of the terrible.
12eI will make a man fmore precious than gfine gold;
Even a man than hthe golden wedge of Ophir.
13Therefore iI will shake the heavens,
And ithe earth shall remove out of her place,
In jthe wrath of the Lord of hosts,
And kin the day of his jfierce anger.
14And it shall be as the chased roe,
And as a sheep that no man taketh up:
lThey shall every man turn to his own people,
And flee every one into his own land.
15Every one that is found mshall be thrust through;
And every one that is joined unto them shall fall by the sword.
16nTheir children also shall be dashed to pieces before their eyes;
oTheir houses shall be spoiled, and otheir wives ravished.
17Behold, pI will stir up qthe Medes against them,
rWhich shall not regard silver;
And as for gold, they shall not delight in it.
18sTheir bows also shall dash the young men to pieces;
And they shall have no pity on the fruit of the womb;
tTheir eye shall not spare children.
19And Babylon, uthe glory of kingdoms,
uThe beauty of vthe Chaldees’ uexcellency,
wShall be †as xwhen God overthrew ySodom and Gomorrah.
20zIt shall never be inhabited,
Neither shall it be dwelt in from generation to generation:
Neither shall athe Arabian pitch tent there;
Neither shall the shepherds bmake their fold there.
21cBut †dwild beasts of the desert shall lie there;
And their houses shall be full of †doleful creatures;
And ||†dowls shall dwell there,
And desatyrs shall dance there.
22And †dthe wild beasts of the islands shall cry in their ||fdesolate houses,
And gdragons in their hpleasant ipalaces:
And kher time is near to come,
And her days shall not be prolonged.
