27The word of the Lord came again unto me, saying, 2Now, thou son of man, atake up a lamentation for Tyrus; 3And say unto Tyrus, O thou that art situate at bthe entry of the sea, which art ca merchant of the people for many isles, Thus saith the Lord God; O Tyrus, thou hast said, dI am †of perfect beauty. 4Thy borders are in the †midst of the seas, thy builders dhave perfected thy beauty. 5They have †made all thy ship boards of efir trees of fSenir: they have taken gcedars from Lebanon to make hmasts for thee. 6Of ithe oaks of Bashan have they made thine joars; ||†the company of lthe Ashurites have made thy benches of ivory, brought out of mthe isles of Chittim. 7nFine linen with obroidered work pfrom Egypt was qthat which thou spreadest forth to be rthy sail; ||sblue and stpurple from the isles of uElishah was that which covered thee. 8The inhabitants of Zidon and vArvad were wthy mariners: thy wise men, O Tyrus, that were in thee, were thy xpilots. 9The ancients of yGebal and the wise men thereof were in thee zthy ||†calkers: all the ships of the sea with their amariners were in thee zto boccupy thy merchandise. 10They of cPersia and of deLud and of cdfPhut were in thine army, gthy men of war: ggthey hanged the shield and helmet in thee; they set forth hthy comeliness. 11The men of vArvad with thine army were upon thy walls round about, and the Gammadims were in thy towers: ggthey hanged itheir shields upon thy walls round about; jthey have made thy beauty perfect. 12kTarshish was lthy merchant by reason of the multitude of all kind of riches; with silver, iron, tin, and lead, mthey traded in thy fairs. 13nopJavan, noqTubal, and nqrMeshech, they were thy merchants: they traded sthe persons of men and vessels of brass in thy ||market. 14They of the house of tTogarmah mtraded in thy fairs with horses and horsemen and mules. 15The men of uDedan were thy merchants; many isles were the merchandise of thine hand: they brought thee for va present horns of ivory and ebony. 16Syria was lthy merchant by reason of the multitude of †the wares of thy making: mthey occupied in thy fairs with wemeralds, xpurple, and xbroidered work, and yfine linen, and zcoral, and ||aagate. 17Judah, and the land of Israel, they were thy merchants: they traded in thy market bwheat of cMinnith, and Pannag, and honey, and oil, and ||dbalm. 18eDamascus was thy merchant in the multitude of the wares of thy making, for the multitude of all riches; in the wine of Helbon, and fwhite wool. 19Dan also and Javan ||going to and fro goccupied in thy fairs: bright iron, hcassia, and icalamus, were in thy market. 20kDedan was thy merchant in †precious clothes for chariots. 21lArabia, and all the princes of mKedar, †they occupied with thee in lambs, and rams, and goats: in these were they thy merchants. 22The merchants of noSheba and nRaamah, they were pthy merchants: pthey occupied in thy fairs with ichief of all spices, and with all precious stones, and gold. 23qHaran, and Canneh, and qEden, the merchants of oSheba, rAsshur, and Chilmad, were thy merchants. 24These were thy merchants in ||all sorts of things, in sblue †clothes, and sbroidered work, and in chests of rich apparel, bound with cords, and made of cedar, among thy merchandise. 25tThe ships of uTarshish did sing of thee in thy market: and thou wast replenished, and made very glorious in the vmidst of the seas. 26wThy rowers have brought thee into great waters: xthe east wind hath broken thee in the †midst of the seas. 27yThy riches, and zthy fairs, athy merchandise, bthy mariners, and cthy pilots, bthy calkers, and bthe occupiers of thy merchandise, and all dthy men of war, that are in thee, ||and in eall thy company which is in the midst of thee, shall fall into the †midst of the seas fin the day of thy ruin. 28gThe ||suburbs hshall shake at the sound of the cry of cthy pilots. 29iAnd all that handle kthe oar, bthe mariners, and all cthe pilots of the sea, shall come down from their ships, they shall stand upon the land; 30iAnd shall cause their voice to be heard against thee, and shall cry bitterly, and shall locast up dust upon their heads, they shall mwallow themselves in the ashes: 31And they shall nmake themselves utterly bald for thee, and ogird them with sackcloth, and they shall lweep for thee oowith bitterness of heart and bitter wailing. 32And in their wailing they shall ptake up a lamentation for thee, and pplament over thee, saying, iWhat city is like Tyrus, like the destroyed qin the midst of the sea? 33rWhen sthy wares went forth out of the seas, thou filledst many people; tthou didst enrich the kings of the earth with the multitude of thy riches and of athy merchandise. 34In the time uwhen thou shalt be broken by the seas vin the depths of the waters athy merchandise and eall thy company in the midst of thee shall fall. 35wAll the inhabitants of the isles xyshall be astonished at thee, and ytheir kings shall be sore afraid, they shall be troubled in their countenance. 36zThe merchants among the people shall ahiss at thee; bthou shalt be †a terror, and †never shalt be any more.

28The word of the Lord came again unto me, saying, 2Son of man, say unto athe prince of Tyrus, Thus saith the Lord God; bBecause cthine heart is lifted up, and dthou hast said, I am a God, I sit in the seat of God, ein the †midst of the seas; yet fthou art a man, and not God, though gthou set thine heart as the heart of God: 3Behold, hthou art wiser than iDaniel; there is no secret that they can hide from thee: 4hjWith thy wisdom and with thine understanding kthou hast gotten thee riches, and hast gotten gold and silver into thy treasures: 5†By thy great wisdom and by lthy traffick khast thou increased thy riches, and cmthine heart is lifted up because of thy riches: 6Therefore thus saith the Lord God; Because gthou hast set thine heart as the heart of God; 7Behold, therefore I will bring nstrangers upon thee, opthe terrible of the nations: and othey shall draw their swords against qthe beauty of thy wisdom, and they shall defile qthy brightness. 8They shall bring thee down rto the pit, and thou shalt die the deaths of them that are slain ein the midst of the seas. 9dWilt thou yet say before him that slayeth thee, I am God? but fthou shalt be a man, and no God, in the hand of him that ||slayeth thee. 10Thou shalt die the deaths of sthe uncircumcised by the hand of nstrangers: for tI have spoken it, saith the Lord God.

11Moreover the word of the Lord came unto me, saying, 12Son of man, utake up a lamentation upon athe king of Tyrus, and say unto him, Thus saith the Lord God; Thou sealest up vthe sum, hfull of wisdom, and wperfect in beauty. 13Thou hast been in xEden the garden of God; every precious stone was thy covering, ythe ||sardius, yztopaz, and athe diamond, bthe ||beryl, cthe onyx, and dthe jasper, ethe sapphire, fthe ||emerald, and gthe carbuncle, and cgold: hthe workmanship of thy itabrets and of thy pipes was prepared in thee in kthe day that thou wast created. 14Thou art the anointed lcherub that covereth; and I have set thee so: thou wast upon mthe holy mountain of God; thou hast walked up and down in the midst of nthe stones of fire. 15Thou wast perfect in thy ways from kthe day that thou wast created, till iniquity was found in thee. 16By the multitude of othy merchandise they have filled the midst of thee with violence, and thou hast sinned: therefore I will cast thee as profane out of mthe mountain of God: and I will destroy thee, lO covering cherub, from the midst of nthe stones of fire. 17pThine heart was lifted up because of qthy beauty, thou hast corrupted qthy wisdom by reason of thy brightness: I will cast thee to the ground, I will lay thee before kings, that they may behold thee. 18rThou hast defiled thy sanctuaries by the multitude of thine iniquities, by the iniquity of othy traffick; therefore swill I bring forth a fire from the midst of thee, it shall devour thee, and I will bring thee to ashes upon the earth in the sight of all them that behold thee. 19All they that know thee among the people tshall be astonished at thee: uthou shalt be †a terror, and never shalt thou be any more.

20Again the word of the Lord came unto me, saying, 21Son of man, vset thy face wagainst Zidon, and vprophesy against it, 22And say, Thus saith the Lord God; xBehold, I am against thee, O Zidon; and xxI will be glorified in the midst of thee: and ythey shall know that I am the Lord, yywhen I shall have executed judgments in her, zand shall be sanctified in her. 23For I will send into her apestilence, and ablood into her streets; and the wounded shall be judged in the midst of her by the sword upon her on every side; band they shall know that I am the Lord. 24And cthere shall be no more da pricking brier unto the house of Israel, nor any grieving thorn eof all that are round about them, fthat despised them; band they shall know that I am the Lord God. 25Thus saith the Lord God; gWhen I shall have gathered the house of Israel from the people among whom they are scattered, and bgshall be sanctified in them in the sight of the heathen, then hshall they dwell in their land that I have given to my servant Jacob. 26And ithey shall dwell ||safely therein, and shall kbuild houses, and kplant vineyards; yea, they shall dwell with confidence, bwhen I have executed judgments fupon all those that ||despise them round about them; band they shall know that I am the Lord their God.
