פ (Pe)

119:129Your rules are marvelous.

Therefore I observe them.

119:130Your instructions are a doorway through which light shines.166

They give167 insight to the untrained.168

119:131I open my mouth and pant,

because I long169 for your commands.

119:132Turn toward me and extend mercy to me,

as you typically do to your loyal followers.170

119:133Direct my steps by your word!171

Do not let any sin dominate me!

119:134Deliver me172 from oppressive men,

so that I can keep173 your precepts.

119:135Smile174 on your servant!

Teach me your statutes!

119:136Tears stream down from my eyes,175

because people176 do not keep your law.

ץ (Tsade)

119:137You are just, O Lord,

and your judgments are fair.

119:138The rules you impose are just,177

and absolutely reliable.

119:139My zeal178 consumes179 me,

for my enemies forget your instructions.180

119:140Your word is absolutely pure,

and your servant loves it!

119:141I am insignificant and despised,

yet I do not forget your precepts.

119:142Your justice endures,181

and your law is reliable.182

119:143Distress and hardship confront183 me,

yet I find delight in your commands.

119:144Your rules remain just.184

Give me insight so that I can live.185
