CHAPTER 12
Yahweh Will Save
1The oracle of the word of Yahweh concerning Israel.
Thus declares Yahweh who astretches out the heavens, blays the foundation of the earth, and cforms the spirit of man within him,
2“Behold, I am going to make Jerusalem a acup 1that causes reeling to all the peoples all around. Now the one in siege against Jerusalem will also be against bJudah.
3“But it will be in that day, that I will make Jerusalem a heavy astone for all the peoples; all who heave it up will be bseverely 1injured. And all the cnations of the earth will be gathered against it.
4“In that day,” declares Yahweh, “I will strike every horse with bewilderment and his rider with madness. But I will open my eyes to watch over the house of Judah, while I strike every horse of the peoples with blindness.
5“Then the clans of Judah will say in their hearts, ‘1A strong support for us are the inhabitants of Jerusalem through Yahweh of hosts, their God.’
6“In that day I will make the clans of Judah like a afiery laver among pieces of wood and a fiery torch among sheaves, so they will consume on the right hand and on the left all the surrounding peoples, while Jerusalem will again be binhabited in its own place—in Jerusalem.
7“Yahweh also will asave the tents of Judah first so that the glory of the house of bDavid and the glory of the inhabitants of Jerusalem will not be magnified above Judah.
8“In that day Yahweh will adefend the inhabitants of Jerusalem, and the one who bstumbles among them in that day will be like David, and the house of David will be like cGod, like the dangel of Yahweh before them.
9“And it will be in that day, that I will aseek to destroy all the nations that come against Jerusalem.
Mourning for the Pierced One
10“And I will apour out on the house of David and on the inhabitants of Jerusalem 1the Spirit of grace and of supplication, so that they will look on Me whom they have bpierced; and they will mourn for Him, as one cmourns for an only son, and they will weep bitterly over Him like the bitter weeping over a firstborn.
11“In that day there will be great amourning in Jerusalem, like the mourning of Hadadrimmon in the 1plain of 2Megiddo.
12“And the land will mourn, each family alone; the family of the house of David alone and their wives alone; the family of the house of Nathan alone and their wives alone;
13the family of the house of Levi alone and their wives alone; the family of the Shimeites alone and their wives alone;
14all the families that remain, each family alone and their wives alone.
CHAPTER 13
Jerusalem Refined and Tested
1“In that day a afountain will be opened for the house of David and for the inhabitants of Jerusalem, for bsin and for cimpurity.
2“And it will be in that day,” declares Yahweh of hosts, “that I will acut off the names of the idols from the land, and they will no longer be remembered; and I will also cause the bprophets and the cunclean spirit to pass away from the land.
3“And it will be that if anyone still aprophesies, then his father and mother who gave birth to him will say to him, ‘You shall bnot live, for you have spoken cfalsely in the name of Yahweh’; and his dfather and mother who gave birth to him will pierce him through when he prophesies.
4“And it will be in that day, that the prophets will each be aashamed of his vision when he prophesies, and they will not put on a bhairy mantle in order to deceive;
5but he will say, ‘I am anot a prophet; I am a cultivator of the ground, for a man 1sold me as a slave in my youth.’
6“And one will say to him, ‘What are these wounds struck here abetween your 1arms?’ Then he will say, ‘Those with which I was struck in the house of 2my friends.’
7“Awake, O asword, against My bShepherd
And against the man, My cAssociate,”
Declares Yahweh of hosts.
“dStrike the Shepherd that the sheep may be scattered;
And I will eturn My hand 1against the little ones.
8“And it will be in all the land,”
Declares Yahweh,
“That atwo parts in it will be cut off and breathe their last;
But the third will be left in it.
9“And I will bring the third part through the afire
And refine them as silver is refined
And test them as gold is tested.
And I will canswer them;
I will say, ‘They are dMy people,’
And they will say, ‘Yahweh is my God.’”
CHAPTER 14
Yahweh Will Battle the Nations
1Behold, a aday is coming for Yahweh when bthe spoil taken from you will be divided among you.
2Indeed, I will agather all the nations against Jerusalem to battle, and the city will be captured, the bhouses plundered, the women ravished, and half of the city will go forth in exile, but those left of the people will not be cut off from the city.
3Then Yahweh will go forth and afight against those nations, as the day when He fights on a day of battle.
4And in that day His feet will astand on the Mount of Olives, which is in front of Jerusalem on the east; and the Mount of Olives will be bsplit in its middle from east to west by a very large valley so that half of the mountain will move toward the north and the other half toward the south.
5And you will flee by the valley of My mountains, for the valley of the mountains will reach to Azel; indeed, you will flee just as you fled before the aearthquake in the days of Uzziah king of Judah. bThen Yahweh, my God, will come, and all the holy ones with 1Him!
6And it will be in that day, that there will be ano light; the 1luminaries will dwindle.
7And it will be aa 1unique day which is bknown to Yahweh, neither day nor night, but it will be that at cevening time there will be light.
8And it will be in that day, athat living waters will flow out of Jerusalem, half of them toward the eastern sea and the other half toward the western sea; it will be in summer as well as in winter.
Yahweh Will Be King over All
9And Yahweh will be aking over all the earth; in that day Yahweh will be the only bone, and His name one.
10All the land will be changed into a plain from aGeba to bRimmon south of Jerusalem; but 1Jerusalem will crise and dinhabit its site from eBenjamin’s Gate as far as the place of the First Gate to the fCorner Gate, and from the gTower of Hananel to the king’s wine presses.
11And 1people will inhabit it, and there will ano longer be anything devoted to destruction, for Jerusalem will bbe inhabited in security.
12Now this will be the plague with which Yahweh will plague all the peoples who have gone to war against Jerusalem; their flesh will arot while they stand on their feet, and their eyes will rot in their sockets, and their tongue will rot in their mouth.
13And it will be in that day, that abundant confusion from Yahweh will 1fall on them; and they will atake hold of one another’s hand, and the hand of one will 2go up against the hand of another.
14aAnd Judah also will fight at Jerusalem; and the bwealth of all the surrounding nations will be gathered, gold and silver and garments in great abundance.
15And in the same way, athe plague on the horse, the mule, the camel, the donkey, and all the cattle that will be in those camps will be like this plague.
16Then it will be that any who are left of all the nations that went against Jerusalem will ago up from year to year to worship the King, Yahweh of hosts, and to celebrate the bFeast of Booths.
17And it will be that whichever of the families of the earth does not go up to Jerusalem to worship the aKing, Yahweh of hosts, there will be bno rain on them.
18And if the family of Egypt does not go up or enter, then no rain will fall on them; it will be the aplague with which Yahweh plagues the nations who do not go up to celebrate the Feast of Booths.
19This will be the 1punishment of Egypt, and the 2punishment of all the nations who do not go up to celebrate the Feast of Booths.
20In that day there will be inscribed on the bells of the horses, “aHoly to Yahweh.” And the bpots in the house of Yahweh will be like the bowls before the altar.
21And every pot in Jerusalem and in Judah will be aholy to Yahweh of hosts; and all who sacrifice will come and take of them and boil in them. And there will no longer be a 1bCanaanite in the house of Yahweh of hosts in that day.
