PSALM 135

O Yahweh, Your Name Is Everlasting

^11aPraise Yah!

Praise the name of Yahweh;

Praise Him, O ^bslaves of Yahweh,

²You who stand in the house of Yahweh,

In the ^acourts of the house of our God!

³¹Praise Yah, for ^aYahweh is good;

^bSing praises to His name, ^cfor it is lovely.

⁴For Yah has ^achosen Jacob for Himself,

Israel for His ^1btreasured possession.

⁵For I know that ^aYahweh is great

And that our Lord is greater ^bthan all gods.

^6aWhatever Yahweh pleases, He does,

In heaven and on earth, in the seas and in all deeps.

⁷The One who ^acauses the clouds to ascend from the end of the earth;

Who ^bmakes lightnings for the rain,

Who ^cbrings forth the wind from His storehouses.

⁸¹He ^astruck the firstborn of Egypt,

From man to beast.

⁹¹He sent ^asigns and wonders into your midst, O Egypt,

Amongst ^bPharaoh and all his slaves.

^101aHe ^bstruck many nations

And slew mighty kings,

^11aSihon, king of the Amorites,

And ^bOg, king of Bashan,

And ^call the kingdoms of Canaan;

¹²And He ^agave their land as an inheritance,

An inheritance to Israel His people.

¹³O Yahweh, Your ^aname is everlasting,

O Yahweh, Your ¹remembrance is ²from generation to generation.

¹⁴For Yahweh will ^arender justice for His people

And ^bwill give comfort to His slaves.

¹⁵The ^aidols of the nations are silver and gold,

The work of man’s hands.

¹⁶They have mouths, but they do not speak;

They have eyes, but they do not see;

¹⁷They have ears, but they do not hear,

Surely, there is not any breath in their mouths.

¹⁸Those who make them will be like them,

All who trust in them.

¹⁹O house of ^aIsrael, bless Yahweh;

O house of Aaron, bless Yahweh;

²⁰O house of Levi, bless Yahweh;

You ^awho fear Yahweh, bless Yahweh.

²¹Blessed be Yahweh ^afrom Zion,

Who ^bdwells in Jerusalem.

His Lovingkindness Endures Forever

^1aGive thanks to Yahweh, for ^bHe is good,

For ^cHis lovingkindness endures forever.

²Give thanks to the ^aGod of gods,

For His lovingkindness endures forever.

³Give thanks to the ^aLord of lords,

For His lovingkindness endures forever.

⁴To Him who ^aalone does great ¹wonders,

For His lovingkindness endures forever;

⁵To Him who ^amade the heavens ^bwith ¹skill,

For His lovingkindness endures forever;

⁶To Him who ^aspread out the earth above the waters,

For His lovingkindness endures forever;

⁷To Him who ^amade the great lights,

For His lovingkindness endures forever:

⁸The ^asun to rule ¹by day,

For His lovingkindness endures forever,

⁹The ^amoon and stars to rule ¹by night,

For His lovingkindness endures forever.

¹⁰To Him who ^astruck ¹the Egyptians through their firstborn,

For His lovingkindness endures forever,

¹¹Then ^abrought Israel out from their midst,

For His lovingkindness endures forever,

¹²With a ^astrong hand and an ^boutstretched arm,

For His lovingkindness endures forever.

¹³To Him who ^adivided the ¹Red Sea in two,

For His lovingkindness endures forever,

¹⁴And ^amade Israel pass through the midst of it,

For His lovingkindness endures forever,

¹⁵But ^aHe ¹overthrew Pharaoh and his army in the ²Red Sea,

For His lovingkindness endures forever.

¹⁶To Him who ^aled His people through the wilderness,

For His lovingkindness endures forever;

¹⁷To Him who ^astruck great kings,

For His lovingkindness endures forever,

¹⁸And ^akilled ¹mighty kings,

For His lovingkindness endures forever:

^19aSihon, king of the Amorites,

For His lovingkindness endures forever,

²⁰And ^aOg, king of Bashan,

For His lovingkindness endures forever,

²¹And ^agave their land as an inheritance,

For His lovingkindness endures forever,

²²Even an inheritance to Israel His ^aservant,

For His lovingkindness endures forever.

²³Who ^aremembered us in our low estate,

For His lovingkindness endures forever,

²⁴And has ^asnatched us from our adversaries,

For His lovingkindness endures forever;

²⁵Who ^agives food to all flesh,

For His lovingkindness endures forever.

²⁶Give thanks to the ^aGod of heaven,

For His lovingkindness endures forever.
