Psalm 135

Yahweh Is Great

¹Hallelujah!

Praise the name of Yahweh.

Give praise, you servants of Yahweh ^j

²who stand in the house of Yahweh,

in the courts of the house of our God. ^k

³Praise Yahweh, for Yahweh is good;

sing praise to His name, for it is delightful. ^l

⁴For Yahweh has chosen Jacob for Himself,

Israel as His treasured possession. ^m

⁵For I know that Yahweh is great;

our Lord is greater than all gods. ⁿ

⁶Yahweh does whatever He pleases

in heaven and on earth,

in the seas and all the depths. ^o

⁷He causes the clouds to rise from the ends of the earth.

He makes lightning for the rain

and brings the wind from His storehouses. ^p

⁸He struck down the firstborn of Egypt,

both man and beast. ^q

⁹He sent signs and wonders against you, Egypt,

against Pharaoh and all his officials. ^r

¹⁰He struck down many nations

and slaughtered mighty kings: ^s

¹¹Sihon king of the Amorites,

Og king of Bashan,

and all the kings of Canaan. ^t

¹²He gave their land as an inheritance,

an inheritance to His people Israel. ^u

¹³Yahweh, Your name endures forever,

Your reputation, Yahweh,

through all generations. ^v

¹⁴For Yahweh will vindicate His people

and have compassion on His servants. ^w

¹⁵The idols of the nations are of silver and gold,

made by human hands. ^x

¹⁶They have mouths but cannot speak, ^y

eyes, but cannot see.

¹⁷They have ears but cannot hear;

indeed, there is no breath in their mouths. ^z

¹⁸Those who make them are just like them,

as are all who trust in them. ^a

¹⁹House of Israel, praise Yahweh! ^b

House of Aaron, praise Yahweh! ^c

²⁰House of Levi, praise Yahweh!

You who revere the Lord, praise the Lord! ^d

²¹May the Lord be praised from Zion; ^e

He dwells in Jerusalem. ^f

God’s Love Is Eternal

¹Give thanks to the Lord, for He is good. ^g

His love is eternal.

²Give thanks to the God of gods.

His love is eternal.

³Give thanks to the Lord of lords. ^h

His love is eternal.

⁴He alone does great wonders. ⁱ

His love is eternal.

⁵He made the heavens skillfully. ^j

His love is eternal.

⁶He spread the land on the waters. ^k

His love is eternal.

⁷He made the great lights: ^l

His love is eternal.

⁸the sun to rule by day,

His love is eternal.

⁹the moon and stars to rule by night. ^m

His love is eternal.

¹⁰He struck the firstborn of the Egyptians ⁿ

His love is eternal.

¹¹and brought Israel out from among them

His love is eternal.

¹²with a strong hand and outstretched arm. ^o

His love is eternal.

¹³He divided the Red Sea ^p

His love is eternal.

¹⁴and led Israel through, ^q

His love is eternal.

¹⁵but hurled Pharaoh and his army into the Red Sea. ^r

His love is eternal.

¹⁶He led His people in the wilderness. ^s

His love is eternal.

¹⁷He struck down great kings

His love is eternal.

¹⁸and slaughtered famous kings—

His love is eternal.

¹⁹Sihon king of the Amorites

His love is eternal.

²⁰and Og king of Bashan—

His love is eternal.

²¹and gave their land as an inheritance,

His love is eternal.

²²an inheritance to Israel His servant. ^t

His love is eternal.

²³He remembered us in our humiliation ^u

His love is eternal.

²⁴and rescued us from our foes. ^v

His love is eternal.

²⁵He gives food to every creature. ^w

His love is eternal.

²⁶Give thanks to the God of heaven! ^x
