And when athe day of Pentecost bwas fully come, they were all cwith one accord in one place. 2And suddenly there came da sound from heaven eas of a rushing mighty wind, and it filled all the house where they were sitting. 3And there appeared unto them cloven tongues like as of ffire, and it sat upon each of them. 4And gthey were all filled with the Holy Ghost, and began hto speak with other tongues, as the Spirit gave them utterance. 5And there were dwelling at Jerusalem Jews, idevout men, out of every nation under heaven. 6Now when this was noised abroad, the multitude came together, and were kconfounded, because that every man heard them speak in his own language. 7And they were all lamazed and marvelled, saying one to another, Behold, are not all these which speak mGalileans? 8And how hear we every man in our own tongue, wherein we were born? 9Parthians, and nMedes, and oElamites, and the dwellers in pMesopotamia, and in Judea, and qCappadocia, in qrPontus, and qsAsia, 10tPhrygia, and uPamphylia, in Egypt, and in the parts of Libya about xCyrene, and ystrangers of Rome, Jews and zproselytes, 11aCretes and bArabians, we do hear them speak in our tongues the cwonderful works of God. 12And they were all damazed, and ewere in doubt, saying one to another, What meaneth this? 13Others mocking said, These men are full of new wine.

14But Peter, standing up with fthe eleven, glift up his voice, and said unto them, Ye men of Judea, and all ye that dwell at Jerusalem, be this known unto you, and hearken to my words: 15for these are not hdrunken, as ye suppose, iseeing it is but kthe third hour of the day. 16But this is that which was spoken by the prophet Joel; 17lAnd it shall come to pass in the last days, saith God, mI will pour out of my Spirit nupon all flesh: and your sons and oyour daughters shall prophesy, and your young men shall see visions, and your old men shall dream dreams: 18and on my servants and on my handmaidens I will pour out in those days of my Spirit; and pthey shall prophesy: 19and I will shew qwonders in heaven above, and qsigns in the earth beneath; blood, and fire, and vapour of smoke: 20rthe sun shall be turned into darkness, and the moon into blood, before that great and notable day of the Lord come: 21and it shall come to pass, that swhosoever shall call on the name of the Lord shall be saved. 22Ye men of Israel, hear these words; tJesus of Nazareth, a man uapproved of God among you by xmiracles and qxwonders and signs, which God did by him in the midst of you, as ye yourselves also know: 23Him, ybeing delivered by the zdeterminate counsel and aforeknowledge of God, bye have taken, and by wicked hands have crucified and slain: 24cwhom God hath raised up, having loosed dthe pains of death: because it was not possible that he should be holden of it. 25For David speaketh econcerning him, fI foresaw the Lord always before my face, for he is on my right hand, that I should not be moved: 26therefore did my heart rejoice, and my tongue was glad; moreover also my flesh shall rest in hope: 27gbecause thou wilt not leave my soul in hell, neither wilt thou suffer thine Holy One to see corruption. 28Thou hast made known to me the ways of life; thou shalt make me full of joy with thy countenance. 29Men and brethren, let me freely speak unto you of hthe patriarch David, that ihe is both dead and buried, and khis sepulchre is with us unto this day. 30Therefore being a prophet, and knowing that lGod had sworn with an oath to him, that of the fruit of his loins, maccording to the flesh, he would raise up Christ to sit on his throne; 31he seeing this before, spake of the resurrection of Christ, nthat his soul was not left in ohell, neither his flesh did see corruption. 32This Jesus chath God raised up, whereof we all are pwitnesses. 33Therefore qbeing by the right hand of God exalted, and having received rof the Father the promise of the Holy Ghost, he hath sshed forth this, which ye now see and hear. 34For David is not tascended uinto the heavens: but he saith himself, xThe Lord said unto my Lord, Sit thou on my right hand, 35until I make thy foes thy footstool. 36Therefore let all the house of Israel know yassuredly, that zGod hath made that same Jesus, whom ye have crucified, both aLord and Christ.

37Now when they heard this, they were bpricked in their heart, and said unto Peter and to the rest of the apostles, Men and brethren, cwhat shall we do? 38Then Peter said unto them, dRepent, and ebe baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ ffor the remission of sins, and ye shall receive gthe gift of the Holy Ghost. 39For the promise is unto you, and hto your children, and to all that are iafar off, even as many as the Lord our God shall call. 40And with many other words did he jtestify and exhort, saying, Save yourselves from this kuntoward generation.

41Then they that gladly lreceived his word were baptized: and the same day there were added unto them mabout three thousand nsouls. 42And they ocontinued stedfastly in the apostles’ doctrine and fellowship, and in ybreaking of bread, and in prayers. 43And pfear came upon every soul: and qmany wonders and signs were done by the apostles. 44And all that believed were rtogether, and shad all things common; 45and tsold their possessions and goods, and parted them to all men, uas every man had need. 46And they, ocontinuing daily wwith one accord xin the temple, and ybreaking bread from house to house, did eat their meat with zgladness and singleness of heart, 47apraising God, and having bfavour with all the people. And the Lord cadded to the church daily dsuch as should be saved.

III.Now Peter and aJohn bwent up together cinto the temple at dthe hour of prayer, being ethe ninth hour. 2And a certain man flame from his mother’s womb was carried, gwhom they laid daily at the gate of the temple which is called Beautiful, hto ask alms of them that entered into the temple; 3who seeing Peter and John about to go into the temple, asked an alms. 4And Peter, ifastening his eyes upon him with John, said, Look on us. 5And he jgave heed unto them, expecting to receive something of them. 6Then Peter said, Silver and gold have I none; but such as I have give I thee: kIn the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth rise up and walk. 7And he took him by the right hand, and lift him up: and immediately his feet and ankle bones received strength, 8and he lleaping up stood, and walked, and entered with them into the temple, walking, and lleaping, and praising God. 9And mall the people saw him walking and praising God: 10and they nknew that it was he which hsat for alms at the Beautiful gate of the temple: and they were filled with wonder and amazement at that which had happened unto him.

11And as the lame man which was healed nnheld Peter and John, all the people ran together unto them in othe porch that is called Solomon’s, greatly wondering. 12And when Peter saw it, he panswered unto the people, Ye men of Israel, why marvel ye at this? or why qlook ye so earnestly on us, as though by our own power or rholiness we had made this man to walk? 13The God of Abraham, and of Isaac, and of Jacob, sthe God of our fathers, hath tglorified his Son Jesus; whom ye udelivered up, and wdenied him in the presence of Pilate, when he was determined to xlet him go. 14But ye denied ythe Holy One and zthe Just, and adesired a murderer to be bgranted unto you; 15and killed the cPrince of dlife, whom eGod hath raised from the dead; whereof we are fwitnesses. 16And ghis name hthrough faith in his name hath made this man strong, whom ye see and know: yea, hthe faith which is by him hath given him this perfect soundness in the presence of you all. 17And now, brethren, I wot that ithrough ignorance ye did it, as did also your krulers. 18But those things, which God lbefore had shewed mby the mouth of all his prophets, that Christ should suffer, he hath so fulfilled. 19nRepent ye therefore, and obe converted, that your sins may be pblotted out, when the times of refreshing shall come from the presence of the Lord; 20and he shall send Jesus Christ, which qbefore was preached unto you: 21rwhom the heaven must receive until the times of srestitution of all things, which tGod hath spoken by the mouth of all his holy prophets tusince the world began. 22For Moses truly said unto the fathers, xA prophet shall the Lord your God raise up unto you of your brethren, like unto me; yhim shall ye hear in all things whatsoever he shall say unto you. 23And it shall come to pass, that every soul, which will not hear that prophet, shall be destroyed from among the people. 24Yea, and all the zprophets from zSamuel and those that follow after, as many as have spoken, have likewise lforetold of these days. 25Ye are athe children of the prophets, and of the covenant which God made with our fathers, saying unto Abraham, bAnd in thy seed shall all the kindreds of the earth be eblessed. 26Unto you cfirst God, dhaving raised up his Son Jesus, sent him to ebless you, in fturning away every one of you from his iniquities.

IV.And as they spake unto the people, the priests, and the captain of the temple, and the aSadducees, came upon them, 2bbeing grieved that they taught the people, and preached through Jesus cthe resurrection from the dead. 3And dthey laid hands on them, and put them in ehold unto the next day: for it was now eventide. 4Howbeit many of them which heard the word believed; and the number of the men was fabout five thousand. 5And it came to pass on the morrow, that their grulers, and elders, and scribes, 6and hAnnas the high priest, and iCaiaphas, and John, and Alexander, and as many as were of the kindred of the high priest, were gathered together at Jerusalem. 7And when they had set them in the midst, they asked, kBy what power, or by what name, have ye done this? 8Then Peter, lfilled with the Holy Ghost, said unto them, Ye grulers of the…
