PSALM 84
Blessed Is the Man Who Trusts in You
For the choir director. According to the †Gittith. Of the sons of Korah. A Psalm.
1How lovely are Your adwelling places,
O Yahweh of hosts!
2My asoul has longed and even 1fainted for the courts of Yahweh;
My heart and my flesh sing for joy to the bliving God.
3Even the bird has found a home,
And the swallow a nest for herself, where she sets her young,
At Your aaltars, O Yahweh of hosts,
bMy King and my God.
4How ablessed are those who dwell in Your house!
They are bever praising You. 1Selah.
5How blessed is the man whose astrength is in You,
In 1whose heart are the bhighways to Zion!
6Passing through the valley of 1Baca they make it a 2spring;
The aearly rain also wraps it up with blessings.
7They ago from strength to strength,
1Each one of them bappears before God in Zion.
8O aYahweh God of hosts, hear my prayer;
Give ear, O bGod of Jacob! Selah.
9See our ashield, O God,
And look upon the face of bYour anointed.
10For abetter is a day in Your courts than a thousand elsewhere.
I would choose to stand at the threshold of the house of my God
Than dwell in the tents of wickedness.
11For Yahweh God is aa sun and bshield;
Yahweh gives grace and cglory;
dNo good thing does He withhold 1from those who walk blamelessly.
12O Yahweh of hosts,
How ablessed is the man who trusts in You!
PSALM 85
Turn Us Back, O God
For the choir director. Of the sons of Korah. A Psalm.
1O Yahweh, You showed afavor to Your land;
You 1breturned the fortunes of Jacob.
2You aforgave the iniquity of Your people;
You bcovered all their sin. 1Selah.
3You awithdrew all Your fury;
You bturned back from Your burning anger.
4aTurn us back, O God of our salvation,
And bcause Your vexation toward us to cease.
5Will aYou be angry with us forever?
Will You prolong Your anger from generation to generation?
6Will You not Yourself areturn to 1revive us,
That Your people may bbe glad in You?
7Show us, O Yahweh, Your lovingkindness,
And agive us Your salvation.
8Let me hear what the God, Yahweh, will speak;
For He will aspeak peace to His people, 1to His holy ones;
But let them not bturn back to 2folly.
9Surely aHis salvation is near to those who 1fear Him,
That bglory may dwell in our land.
10aLovingkindness and 1truth have met together;
bRighteousness and peace have kissed each other.
111Truth asprings up from the earth,
And righteousness looks down from heaven.
12Indeed, aYahweh will give what is good,
And our bland will yield its produce.
13aRighteousness will go before Him
And will establish the way of His steps.
PSALM 86
To You, O Lord, I Lift Up My Soul
A Prayer of David.
1aIncline Your ear, O Yahweh, and answer me;
For I am bafflicted and needy.
2aKeep my 1soul, for I am a bholy one;
O You my God, save Your slave who ctrusts in You.
3Be agracious to me, O Lord,
For bto You I call all day long.
4Make glad the soul of Your slave,
For to You, O Lord, aI lift up my soul.
5For You, Lord, are agood, and bby nature forgiving,
And cabundant in lovingkindness to all who call upon You.
6aGive ear, O Yahweh, to my prayer;
And give heed to the voice of my supplications!
7In athe day of my distress I shall call upon You,
For bYou will answer me.
8There is ano one like You among the gods, O Lord,
Nor are there any works blike Yours.
9aAll nations whom You have made shall come and worship before You, O Lord,
And they shall glorify Your name.
10For You are agreat and bdo 1wondrous deeds;
You alone care God.
11aTeach me Your way, O Yahweh;
I will walk in Your truth;
bUnite my heart to fear Your name.
12I will agive thanks to You, O Lord my God, with all my heart,
And will glorify Your name forever.
13For Your lovingkindness toward me is great,
And You have adelivered my soul from Sheol below.
14O God, arrogant men have arisen up against me,
And 1a band of ruthless men have sought my 2life,
And they have not set You before them.
15But You, O Lord, are a God acompassionate and gracious,
Slow to anger and abundant in lovingkindness and 1truth.
16aTurn to me, and be gracious to me;
Oh bgrant Your strength to Your slave,
And save the cson of Your maidservant.
That those who hate me may bsee it and be ashamed,
Because You, O Yahweh, chave helped me and comforted me.
