Psalm 88
*A Song or Psalm ||for the sons of Korah, to the chief Musician upon *Mahalath †Leannoth, ||Maschil of *Heman the †Ezrahite.
1O Lord aGod of my salvation,
I have bcried day and night before thee:
2Let my prayer come before thee:
cIncline thine ear unto my cry;
3For my soul is full of troubles:
And dmy life draweth nigh unto ethe grave.
4I am counted fwith them that go down into the pit:
I am as a man that hath no strength:
5Free among the dead,
Like the slain that lie in the grave,
Whom thou grememberest no more:
And they are hcut off ||from thy hand.
6Thou hast laid me in ithe lowest pit,
7Thy wrath lieth hard upon me,
And thou hast afflicted me with mall thy waves. Selah.
8Thou hast put away nmine acquaintance far from me;
Thou hast made me oan abomination unto them:
I am pshut up, qand I cannot come forth.
9rMine eye mourneth by reason of affliction:
Lord, sI have called daily upon thee,
tI have stretched out my hands unto thee.
10gWilt thou ushew wonders to the dead?
Shall xthe dead arise and praise thee? Selah.
11Shall thy lovingkindness gbe declared in the grave?
Or thy faithfulness in ydestruction?
12Shall zthy wonders be known in athe dark?
And thy righteousness in the land of bforgetfulness?
13But cunto thee have I cried, O Lord;
And din the morning shall my prayer eprevent thee.
14Lord, why fCastest thou off my soul?
Why ghidest thou thy face from me?
15I am afflicted and ready to die from my youth up:
While I suffer thy terrors I am distracted.
16Thy fierce wrath hgoeth over me;
Thy iterrors have cut me off.
17jThey came round about me ||daily like water;
They kcompassed me about together.
