9And as Jesus passed by, he saw a man which was blind from his birth. 2And his disciples asked him, saying, aMaster, bwho did sin, this man, or chis parents, that he was born blind? 3Jesus answered, Neither hath this man sinned, nor his parents: but dthat the works of God should be made manifest in him. 4I must work ethe works of him that sent me, fwhile it is day: the night cometh, when no man can work. 5As long as I am in the world, gI am the light of the world. 6When he had thus spoken, hhe spat on the ground, and made clay of the spittle, and he ||anointed the eyes of the blind man with the clay, 7And said unto him, Go, wash in ithe pool of Siloam, (which is by interpretation, Sent.) jHe went his way therefore, and washed, and came seeing.
8The neighbours therefore, and they which before had kseen him that he was blind, said, Is not this he lthat sat and begged? 9Some said, This is he: others said, He is like him: but he said, I am he. 10Therefore said they unto him, How were thine eyes opened? 11He answered and said, mA man that is called Jesus made clay, and anointed mine eyes, and said unto me, Go to the pool of Siloam, and wash: and I went and washed, and I received sight. 12Then said they unto him, Where is he? He said, I know not.
13They brought to the Pharisees him that aforetime was blind. 14And nit was the sabbath day when Jesus made the clay, and opened his eyes. 15Then oagain the Pharisees also asked him how he had received his sight. He said unto them, He put clay upon mine eyes, and I washed, and do see. 16Therefore said some of the Pharisees, This man is not pof God, qbecause he keepeth not the sabbath day. rOthers said, sHow can a man that is a sinner do such miracles? And tthere was a division among them. 17They say unto the blind man again, What sayest thou of him, that he hath opened thine eyes? He said, He is ua prophet. 18But xthe Jews did not believe concerning him, that he had been blind, and received his sight, until they called the parents of him that had received his sight. 19And they asked them, saying, Is this your son, who ye say was born blind? how then doth he now see? 20His parents answered them and said, We know that this is our son, and that he was born blind: 21But by what means he now seeth, we know not; or who hath opened his eyes, we know not: he is of age; ask him: he shall speak for himself. 22These words spake his parents, because ythey feared xthe Jews: for zthe Jews had agreed already, that if any man did confess that he was Christ, ahe should be put out of the synagogue. 23Therefore said his parents, He is of age; ask him. 24Then again called they the man that was blind, and said unto him, bGive God the praise: we know that this man is ca sinner. 25He answered and said, Whether he be a sinner or no, I know not: one thing I know, that, whereas I was blind, now I see. 26Then said they to him again, What did he to thee? how opened he thine eyes? 27He answered them, I have told you already, and ye did not dhear: wherefore would ye hear it again? will ye also be his disciples? 28Then they reviled him, and said, Thou art his disciple; but we are Moses’ disciples. 29We know that God spake unto Moses: as for this fellow, ewe know not from whence he is. 30The man answered and said unto them, fWhy herein is a marvellous thing, that ye know not from whence he is, and yet he hath opened mine eyes. 31Now we know that gGod heareth not sinners: but if any man be a worshipper of God, and doeth his will, hhim he heareth. 32iSince the world began was it not heard that any man opened the eyes of one that was born blind. 33kIf this man were not lof God, he could do nothing. 34They answered and said unto him, Thou wast maltogether born in sins, and dost thou teach us? And they ||ncast him out. 35Jesus heard that they had ncast him out; and when he had found him, he said unto him, Dost thou obelieve on pthe Son of God? 36He answered and said, Who is he, Lord, that I might believe on him? 37And Jesus said unto him, qThou hast both seen him, and rit is he that talketh with thee. 38And he said, Lord, I believe. And he sworshipped him.
39And Jesus said, tFor judgment I am come into this world, that they which see not might see; and that uthey which see might be made blind. 40And some of the Pharisees which were with him heard these words, and said unto him, xAre we blind also? 41Jesus said unto them, If ye were blind, yye should have no sin: xbut now ye say, We see; therefore your sin remaineth.
10Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that entereth not by the door into the sheepfold, but climbeth up some other way, the same is a thief and a arobber. 2But he that entereth in by the door is the shepherd of the sheep. 3To him bthe porter openeth; and the sheep hear his voice: and he calleth his own sheep by name, and leadeth them out. 4And when he cputteth forth his own sheep, he goeth before them, and the sheep follow him: for they know his voice. 5And da stranger will they not follow, but will flee from him: for they know not the voice of strangers. 6This eparable spake Jesus unto them: fbut they understood not what things they were which he spake unto them.
7Then said Jesus unto them again, Verily, verily, I say unto you, I am the door of the sheep. 8All that ever came before me are thieves and arobbers: but the sheep did not hear them. 9I am gthe door: by me if any man enter in, he shall be saved, and hshall go in and out, and ifind pasture. 10The thief cometh not, but for to steal, and to kill, and to destroy: I am come that they might have life, and that they might have it more abundantly. 11I am kthe good shepherd: the good shepherd lgiveth his life for the sheep. 12But he that is an mhireling, and not the shepherd, whose own the sheep are not, seeth nthe wolf coming, and oleaveth the sheep, and fleeth: and the wolf catcheth them, and pscattereth the sheep. 13The hireling fleeth, because he is an hireling, and qcareth not for the sheep. 14I am the good shepherd, and rknow my sheep, and am known of mine. 15sAs the Father knoweth me, even so know I the Father: and tI lay down my life for the sheep. 16And uother sheep I have, which are not of this wfold: ythem also I must bring, and they shall hear my voice; yand there shall be one zfold, and aone shepherd. 17bTherefore doth my Father love me, cbecause tI lay down my life, that I might take it again. 18No man taketh it from me, but tdI lay it down of myself. I have power to lay it down, and eI have power to take it again. This fcommandment have I received of my Father. 19There was ga division therefore again among hthe Jews for these sayings. 20And many of them said, iHe hath a devil, and jis mad; why hear ye him? 21Others said, These are not the words of him kthat hath a devil. lCan a devil mopen the eyes of the blind?
22*And it was at Jerusalem the feast of nthe dedication, and it was owinter. 23And Jesus walked in the temple pin Solomon’s porch. 24Then came hthe Jews round about him, and said unto him, How long dost thou ||make us to doubt? If thou be the Christ, tell us plainly. 25Jesus answered them, qI told you, and ye believed not: rthe works that I do in my Father’s name, they bear witness of me. 26But ye believe not, because ye are not of my sheep, stas I said unto you. 27tMy sheep hear my voice, and I know them, and they follow me: 28And I give unto them eternal life; and uthey shall never perish, wneither shall any man pluck them out of my hand. 29xMy Father, ywhich gave them me, is greater than all; and no man is able to pluck them out of my Father’s hand. 30zI and my Father are one. 31Then hthe Jews atook up stones again to stone him. 32Jesus answered them, Many bgood works have I shewed you from my Father; for which of those works do ye stone me? 33hThe Jews answered him, saying, For a good work we stone thee not; but for cblasphemy; and because that thou, being a man, dmakest thyself God. 34Jesus answered them, Is it not written in eyour law, fI said, Ye are ggods? 35If he called them gods, unto whom the word of God came, and the scripture cannot be broken; 36Say ye of him, whom the Father hhath sanctified, and isent into the world, kThou blasphemest; lbecause I said, I am mthe Son of God? 37nIf I do not the works of my Father, believe me not. 38But if I do, othough ye believe not me, believe the works: that ye may know, and believe, that pthe Father is in me, and I in him. 39Therefore qthey sought again to take him: rbut he escaped out of their hand, 40And went away again sbeyond Jordan into the place twhere John at first baptized; and there he abode. 41And many resorted unto him, and said, uJohn did no miracle: but xall things that John spake of this man were true. 42And ymany believed on him there.
