30The word of the Lord came again unto me, saying, 2Son of man, prophesy and say, Thus saith the Lord God; aHowl ye, Woe worth the day! 3For bthe day is near, even abdthe day of the Lord is near, ca cloudy day; dit shall be the time of the heathen. 4And ethe sword shall come upon Egypt, and fgreat ||pain shall be in gEthiopia, when the slain shall fall in Egypt, and hthey shall take away her multitude, and iher foundations shall be broken down. 5gkEthiopia, and †klLibya, and klLydia, and all mthe mingled people, and Chub, and the †men of the land that is in league, shall fall with them by the sword. 6Thus saith the Lord; They also that uphold Egypt shall fall; and nthe pride of her power shall come down: ||ofrom the tower of Syene shall they fall in it by the sword, saith the Lord God. 7And they shall be pdesolate in the midst of the countries that are desolate, pand her cities shall be in the midst of the cities that are wasted. 8qAnd they shall know that I am the Lord, rwhen I have set a fire in Egypt, and when all sher helpers shall be †destroyed. 9In that day tshall messengers go forth from me in ships to make the careless gEthiopians afraid, and fgreat pain shall come upon them, as in the day of Egypt: for, lo, eit cometh. 10Thus saith the Lord God; uI will also make the multitude of Egypt to cease by the hand of Nebuchadrezzar king of Babylon. 11He and his people with him, vthe terrible of the nations, shall be brought to destroy the land: and vthey shall draw their swords against Egypt, and fill the land with the slain. 12And wI will make xthe rivers †ydry, and usell the land into the hand of zthe wicked: and xaI will make the land waste, and †all that is therein, by the hand of bstrangers: cI the Lord have spoken it. 13Thus saith the Lord God; dI will also destroy the idols, and I will cause their eimages to cease out of fNoph; and gthere shall be no more a prince of the land of Egypt: and hI will put a fear in the land of Egypt. 14And I will make iPathros desolate, and kwill set fire in ||lZoan, and mwill execute judgments in nNo. 15And I will pour my fury upon ||Sin, the strength of Egypt; and I will cut off othe multitude of nNo. 16And kI will set fire in Egypt: Sin shall have great pain, and nNo shall be rent asunder, and fNoph pshall have distresses daily. 17The young men of ||qAven and of ||Pi-beseth shall fall by the sword: and these cities shall go into captivity. 18At rTehaphnehes also the day shall be ||darkened, swhen I shall break there the yokes of Egypt: and tthe pomp of her strength shall cease in her: as for her, a cloud shall cover her, and her daughters shall go into captivity. 19Thus mwill I execute judgments in Egypt: uand they shall know that I am the Lord.

20*And it came to pass in the eleventh year, in the first month, in the seventh day of the month, that the word of the Lord came unto me, saying, 21Son of man, vI have broken the arm of Pharaoh king of Egypt; and, lo, it shall not be bound up wto be healed, to put a roller to bind it, to make it strong to hold the sword. 22Therefore thus saith the Lord God; xBehold, I am against Pharaoh king of Egypt, and ywill break his arms, the strong, and that which was broken; and I will cause the sword to fall out of his hand. 23zAnd I will scatter the Egyptians among the nations, and will disperse them through the countries. 24And aI will strengthen the arms of the king of Babylon, and put my sword in his hand: but I will break Pharaoh’s arms, and he shall bgroan before him with the groanings of a bdeadly wounded man. 25But aI will strengthen the arms of the king of Babylon, and the arms of Pharaoh shall fall down; uand they shall know that I am the Lord, when I shall put my sword into the hand of the king of Babylon, and ahe shall stretch it out upon the land of Egypt. 26zAnd I will scatter the Egyptians among the nations, and disperse them among the countries; uand they shall know that I am the Lord.

31*And it came to pass in the eleventh year, in the third month, in the first day of the month, that the word of the Lord came unto me, saying, 2Son of man, speak unto Pharaoh king of Egypt, and to ahis multitude; bWhom art thou like in thy greatness? 3Behold, cthe Assyrian was da cedar in Lebanon †with fair ebranches, and with a shadowing fshroud, and ghof an high stature; and hihis top was gamong ehthe thick boughs. 4iiThe waters ||made him great, the deep ||set him up on high with her rivers running round about his plants, and sent out her ||little rivers unto all the trees of the field. 5Therefore ghhis height was exalted above all the trees of the field, and khis boughs were multiplied, and lhis branches became long because of the multitude of waters, ||when he shot forth. 6mAll the fowls of heaven made their nests in khis boughs, and under lhis branches did all the beasts of the field bring forth their young, and mnunder his shadow dwelt all great nations. 7Thus was he fair bin his greatness, in the length of ohis branches: for his root was by great waters. 8The cedars pin the garden of God could not hide him: the fir trees were not like khis boughs, and qthe chesnut trees were not like lhis branches; nor any tree pin the garden of God was like unto him in his beauty. 9I have made him fair by the multitude of ohis branches: so that all the trees of pEden, that were pin the garden of God, envied him.

10Therefore thus saith the Lord God; Because hthou hast lifted up thyself in height, and he hath shot up ghihis top among ethe thick boughs, and rhis heart is lifted up in his height; 11I have therefore delivered him into the hand of sthe mighty one of the heathen; †he shall surely tdeal with him: I have driven him out for his wickedness. 12And ustrangers, uthe terrible of the nations, have cut him off, and have left him: vupon the mountains and in all vthe valleys ohis branches are fallen, and lhis boughs are broken by all wthe rivers of the land; and all the people of the earth are gone down nfrom his shadow, and have left him. 13xUpon his ruin shall all the fowls of the heaven remain, and all the beasts of the field shall be upon lhis branches: 14To the end that none of all the trees by the waters hexalt themselves for their height, neither shoot up ghitheir top among ethe thick boughs, neither ||their ytrees stand up in their height, yall that drink water: for zthey are all delivered unto death, abto the nether parts of the earth, zin the midst of the children of men, awith them that go down to the pit.

15Thus saith the Lord God; In the day when he went down cto the grave I caused a mourning: I covered the deep for him, and I restrained the floods thereof, and the great waters dwere stayed: and I caused eLebanon †to mourn for him, and all the trees of the field fainted for him. 16fI made the nations to shake at the sound of his fall, when I cast him down cto hell awith them that descend into the pit: and gall the trees of Eden, gthe choice and best of eLebanon, hall that drink water, ishall be comforted ain the nether parts of the earth. 17They also went down cinto hell with him unto jthem that be slain with the sword; and they that were his arm, that kdwelt under his shadow in the midst of the heathen. 18lTo whom art thou thus like in glory and in greatness among gthe trees of Eden? yet shalt thou be brought down with gthe trees of Eden aunto the nether parts of the earth: thou shalt lie in the midst of mthe uncircumcised with jthem that be slain by the sword. lThis is Pharaoh and all lhis multitude, saith the Lord God.

32*And it came to pass in the twelfth year, in the twelfth month, in the first day of the month, that the word of the Lord came unto me, saying, 2Son of man, atake up a lamentation for Pharaoh king of Egypt, and say unto him, Thou art like ba young lion of the nations, and thou art as a ||whale in cthe seas: and thou camest forth with thy rivers, and dtroubledst the waters with thy feet, and efouledst their rivers. 3Thus saith the Lord God; I will therefore eespread out my net over thee with a company of many people; and they shall bring thee up in my fnet. 4Then gwill I leave thee upon the land, gI will cast thee forth upon the open field, and hwill cause all the fowls of the heaven to remain upon thee, and I will fill the beasts of the whole earth with thee. 5And I will lay thy flesh iupon the mountains, and fill ithe valleys with thy height. 6I will also water with thy blood ||the land wherein thou swimmest, even ito the mountains; and ithe rivers shall be full of thee. 7And when I shall ||put thee out, kI will cover the heaven, and lmake the stars thereof dark; kI will cover the sun with a cloud, and kthe moon shall not give her light. 8All the †bright lights of heaven will I lmake †dark over thee, and nset darkness upon thy land, saith the Lord God. 9I will also †vex the hearts of many people, when I shall bring thy odestruction among the nations, into the countries which thou hast not known. 10Yea, I will pmake many people amazed at thee, and ptheir kings shall be horribly afraid for thee, when I shall brandish my sword before them; and qthey shall tremble at every moment, every man for his own life, rin the day of thy fall.

11For thus saith the Lord God; sThe sword of the king of Babylon shall come upon thee. 12By the swords of the mighty will I cause tthy multitude to fall, uthe terrible of the nations, all of them: and vthey shall spoil the pomp of Egypt, and all tthe multitude thereof shall be destroyed. 13I will destroy also all the beasts thereof from beside the great waters; wneither shall the foot of man dtrouble them any more, nor the hoofs of beasts dtrouble them. 14Then will I xmake their waters deep, and cause their rivers to run like oil, saith the Lord God. 15When I shall make the land of Egypt desolate, and ythe country shall be †destitute of that whereof it was full, when I shall smite all them that dwell therein, then zshall they know that I …
