aA false balance is abomination to the Lord:
But a just weight is his delight.
2bWhen pride cometh, then cometh shame:
But with the clowly is wisdom.
3dThe integrity of the upright shall guide them:
But dthe perverseness of transgressors shall destroy them.
4eRiches profit not fin the day of wrath:
eBut righteousness delivereth from death.
5The righteousness of the perfect shall direct his way:
But the wicked shall fall by his own wickedness.
6The righteousness of the upright gshall deliver them:
But transgressors hshall be taken in their own naughtiness.
7When a wicked man dieth, ihis expectation shall perish:
And jthe hope of unjust men perisheth.
8kThe righteous is delivered out of trouble,
And the wicked cometh in his stead.
9A jhypocrite with his mouth destroyeth his neighbour:
lBut through knowledge shall the just be delivered.
10mWhen it goeth well with the righteous, the city rejoiceth:
And when the wicked perish, there is shouting.
11nBy the blessing of the upright othe city is exalted:
But it is oooverthrown by the mouth of the wicked.
12He that is void of wisdom pdespiseth his neighbour:
But a man of understanding holdeth his peace.
13A talebearer revealeth secrets:
But he that is of a faithful spirit concealeth the matter.
14ppWhere no qcounsel is, the people fall:
pBut in the multitude of counsellers there is safety.
15rHe that is surety for a stranger shall smart for it:
And he that hateth suretiship is sure.
16sA gracious woman retaineth honour:
And tstrong men retain riches.
17uThe merciful man doeth good to his own soul:
But he that is wcruel troubleth his own flesh.
18The wicked worketh a deceitful work:
But to xhim that soweth righteousness shall be a sure reward.
19As righteousness tendeth yto life:
So zhe that pursueth evil pursueth it to his own death.
20They that are aof a froward heart are abomination unto the Lord:
But such as are bupright in their way are chis delight.
21dThough hand join in hand, the wicked shall not be unpunished:
But ethe seed of the righteous shall be delivered.
22As fa jewel of gold in a swine’s snout,
So is a fair woman which is without ffdiscretion.
23The desire of the righteous is only good:
But the expectation of the wicked is gwrath.
24ggThere is that hscattereth, and yet increaseth;
And there is that withholdeth more than is meet, ibut it tendeth to poverty.
25jThe liberal soul kshall be made fat:
And kkhe that watereth shall be watered also himself.
26He that withholdeth corn, lthe people shall curse him:
But blessing shall be upon the head of him that llselleth it.
27He that mdiligently seeketh good procureth favour:
But nhe that seeketh mischief, it shall come unto him.
28oHe that trusteth in his riches shall fall:
But the righteous shall pflourish as qa branch.
29He that troubleth his own house rshall inherit the wind:
And the fool shall be servant to the wise of heart.
30qThe fruit of the righteous is a stree of life;
And the that winneth souls is wise.
31uBehold, the righteous shall be recompensed in the earth:
Much more the wicked and the sinner.
XII.Whoso loveth instruction loveth knowledge:
But he that ahateth reproof is bbrutish.
2A good man cobtaineth favour of the Lord:
But a man of wicked devices will he condemn.
3A man shall not be established by wickedness:
But dthe root of the righteous eshall not be moved.
4fA virtuous woman is a crown to her husband:
But she that gmaketh ashamed is as hrottenness in his bones.
5The thoughts of the righteous are right:
But the icounsels of the wicked are deceit.
6The words of the wicked are to klie in wait for blood:
But lthe mouth of the upright shall deliver them.
7mThe wicked are noverthrown, and are not:
But mthe house of the righteous shall stand.
8A man shall be commended nnaccording to his wisdom:
But he that is of a perverse heart shall be despised.
9oHe that is despised, and hath a servant, is better
Than he that honoureth himself, and lacketh bread.
10pA righteous man regardeth the life of his beast:
But the tender mercies of the wicked are qcruel.
11rHe that tilleth his land rrshall be satisfied with bread:
But she that followeth tvain persons is uvoid of understanding.
12The wicked desireth the vnet of evil men:
But the root of the righteous wyieldeth fruit.
13xThe wicked is snared by the transgression of his lips:
But ythe just shall come out of trouble.
14zA man shall be asatisfied with good by athe fruit of his mouth:
And the brecompence of a man’s hands shall be rendered unto him.
15cThe way of a fool is right in his own eyes:
But he that hearkeneth unto counsel is wise.
16dA fool’s wrath is presently known:
But a prudent man covereth shame.
17He that espeaketh truth sheweth forth righteousness:
But ea false witness deceit.
18eeThere is that fspeaketh glike the piercings of a sword:
But the tongue of the wise is hhealth.
19The lip of truth shall be established for ever:
But ia lying tongue is but for a moment.
20Deceit is in the heart of them that kimagine evil:
But to the counsellers of peace is joy.
21lThere shall no evil happen to the just:
But the wicked shall be filled with mischief.
22mLying lips are mnabomination to the Lord:
But they that deal truly are his delight.
23oA prudent man concealeth knowledge:
But othe heart of fools proclaimeth foolishness.
24The hand of the pqdiligent shall bear rule:
But the pslothful shall be runder tribute.
25sHeaviness in the heart of man maketh it stoop:
sBut ta good word maketh it glad.
26The righteous is more excellent than his neighbour:
But the way of the wicked seduceth them.
27The uslothful man roasteth not that which he took in hunting:
But the substance of a udiligent man is precious.
28In the way of righteousness is life;
And in the pathway thereof there is no death.
