Ptolemy XIV Theos Philopator II (ca. 59–44 bc). Son of Ptolemy XII Auletes; younger brother and successor of Ptolemy XIII Theos Philopator.
After his older brother drowned in the Nile River in 47 bc, Ptolemy XIV became coregent with his brother’s widow, Cleopatra VII. The two also married, though Cleopatra remained the lover of Julius Caesar. Cleopatra allegedly murdered Ptolemy XIV in 44 bc and then made her son by Caesar, Ptolemy XV, her coregent.
