Proverbs 9:1–6

Wisdom’s Invitation

1 Wisdom has abuilt her house,

She has hewn out her seven pillars;

2 She has 1aprepared her food, she has bmixed her wine;

She has also cset her table;

3 She has asent out her maidens, she bcalls

From the ctops of the heights of the city:

4 aWhoever is 1naive, let him turn in here!”

To him who blacks 2understanding she says,

5 “Come, aeat of my food

And drink of the wine I have mixed.

6 1Forsake your folly and alive,

And bproceed in the way of understanding.”

Proverbs 9:1–6 — The New International Version (NIV)

Wisdom has built her house;

she has set up its seven pillars.

She has prepared her meat and mixed her wine;

she has also set her table.

She has sent out her servants, and she calls

from the highest point of the city,

“Let all who are simple come to my house!”

To those who have no sense she says,

“Come, eat my food

and drink the wine I have mixed.

Leave your simple ways and you will live;

walk in the way of insight.”
