Psalm 145

David’s Psalm of *praise.

1aI will extol thee, my God, O king;

And I will bless thy name for ever and ever.

2Every day will I bless thee;

And I will praise thy name for ever and ever.

3bGreat is the Lord, and greatly to be praised;

†And his greatness is unsearchable.

4cOne generation shall praise thy works to another,

And shall declare thy nmighty acts.

5I will dspeak of ethe glorious honour of thy majesty,

And of thy wondrous †works.

6And men shall speak of the might of thy terrible acts:

And I will †declare thy greatness.

7They shall fabundantly utter the memory of thy ggreat goodness,

And shall sing of thy righteousness.

8hThe Lord is gracious, and full of compassion;

Slow to anger, and †of great mercy.

9iThe Lord is good to all:

And his tender mercies are over all his works.

10kAll thy works shall praise thee, O Lord;

And lthy saints shall bless thee.

11They shall speak of the glory of thy kingdom,

And talk of thy power;

12mTo make known to the sons of men his nmighty acts,

And othe glorious majesty of his kingdom.

13pThy kingdom is †an everlasting kingdom,

And thy dominion endureth qthroughout all generations.

14rThe Lord upholdeth all that fall,

And sraiseth up all those that be stbowed down.

15The eyes of all ||wait upon thee;

And uthou givest them their meat vin due season.

16wThou openest thine hand,

And xsatisfiest the desire of every living thing.

17yThe Lord is righteous in all his ways,

And ||zholy in all his works.

18aThe Lord is nigh unto all them that call upon him,

To all that call upon him bin truth.

19cHe will fulfil the desire of them that fear him:

He also dwill hear their cry, and will save them.

20The Lord epreserveth all them that dlove him:

But all the wicked will he destroy.

21My mouth shall speak the praise of the Lord:

And flet all flesh bless his holy name gfor ever and ever.

Psalm 146

1†Praise ye the Lord.

aPraise the Lord, O my soul.

2bWhile I live will I praise the Lord:

I will sing praises unto my God bwhile I have any being.

3cPut not your trust in princes,

dNor in the son of man, in whom there is no ||help.

4eHis breath goeth forth, he returneth to his earth;

In that very day fhis thoughts perish.

5gHappy is he that hath the God of Jacob hfor his help,

Whose ihope is in the Lord his God:

6klWhich made heaven, and earth,

lThe sea, and all that therein is:

Which keepeth truth for ever:

7mWhich executeth judgment for the oppressed:

Which giveth food to the nhungry.

oThe Lord plooseth the prisoners:

8qThe Lord openeth the eyes of the blind:

The rxLord raiseth them that are bowed down:

sThe Lord loveth the righteous:

9tThe Lord preserveth the strangers;

tHe urelieveth wthe fatherless and widow:

xBut the way of the wicked he yturneth upside down.

10zThe Lord shall reign for ever,

Even thy God, O Zion, aunto all generations.

bPraise ye the Lord.

Psalm 147

3hHe healeth ithe broken in heart,

And kbindeth up their †wounds.

4lHe telleth the number of the stars;

mHe calleth them all by their names.

5uGreat is our Lord, and oof great power:

†pHis understanding is infinite.

6qThe Lord rlifteth up the meek:

He casteth the wicked down to the ground.

7sSing unto the Lord with thanksgiving;

Sing praise upon the tharp unto our God:

8Who covereth the heaven with clouds,

uWho prepareth rain for the earth,

vWho maketh grass to grow upon the mountains.

9wHe giveth to the beast his food,

And xto the young ravens which cry.

10He delighteth not in the strength of ythe horse:

11zThe Lord taketh pleasure in them that fear him,

aIn those that hope in his mercy.

14†cHe maketh peace in thy borders,

And dfilleth thee with the †finest of the wheat.

15eHe sendeth forth his commandment upon earth:

His word runneth very swiftly.

16He giveth fsnow like wool:

He gscattereth the hhoarfrost like ashes.

17He casteth forth his hiice like morsels:

Who can stand before his icold?

18kHe sendeth out his word, and melteth them:

He causeth his wind to blow, and the waters flow.
