Isaiah 2:11–22

^11bThe lofty looks of man shall be humbled,

And the haughtiness of men shall be bowed down,

And ^cthe Lord alone shall be exalted ^din that day.

¹²For the day of the Lord of hosts shall be upon every one that is ^eproud and lofty,

And upon every one that is lifted up; and he shall be ^ebrought low:

¹³And upon all ^fthe cedars of Lebanon, that are high and lifted up,

And upon all ^gthe oaks of Bashan,

¹⁴And ^hupon all the high mountains,

And ^hupon all the hills that are lifted up,

¹⁵And upon every high tower,

And upon every fenced wall,

¹⁶And upon all ⁱthe ships of Tarshish,

And upon all ^†pleasant pictures.

¹⁷And ^jthe loftiness of man shall be bowed down,

And the haughtiness of men shall be made low:

And the Lord alone shall be exalted ^jin that day.

¹⁸And ^k||the ^widols he shall utterly abolish.

¹⁹And ^lthey shall go into the ^mholes of the rocks,

And into the caves of ^†the earth,

^lFor fear of the Lord, and for the glory of his majesty,

When he ariseth ⁿto shake terribly the earth.

^20dIn that day ^oa man shall cast ^†his ^widols of silver, and his ^widols of gold,

^||Which they made each one for himself to worship,

To the moles and to ^pthe bats;

^21lTo go into ^qthe clefts of the rocks,

And into ^rthe tops of the ragged rocks,

^lFor fear of the Lord, and for the glory of his majesty,

When he ariseth ⁿto shake terribly the earth.

^22sCease ye from man, ^twhose breath is in his nostrils:

For wherein is he to be accounted of?
