14But rcontinue thou in the things which thou hast learned and hast been assured of, knowing of whom thou hast learned them; 15And that sfrom a child tthou hast known uthe holy vscriptures, wwhich are able to make thee wise unto salvation through faith which is in Christ Jesus. 16xAll scripture is given by inspiration of God, and yis profitable for ydoctrine, for zreproof, for acorrection, for instruction in righteousness: 17That bthe man of God may be perfect, ||throughly furnished cunto all dgood works.
4aI charge thee therefore before God, and the Lord Jesus Christ, bwho shall judge the quick and the dead at chis appearing and his kingdom; 2Preach the word; be instant din season, eout of season; freprove, grebuke, hexhort with all ilongsuffering and doctrine. 3For jthe time will come when they will not kendure lsound doctrine; but mafter their own lusts shall they heap to themselves teachers, having itching ears; 4And they shall turn away their ears from the truth, and nshall be turned unto ofables. 5But pwatch thou in all things, qendure afflictions, do the work of ran evangelist, ||smake full proof of thy ministry.
