Psalm 60

Psalm LX.

To the chief Musician upon Shushan-eduth, Michtam of David, to teach; when he strove with Aram-naharaim and with Aram-zobah, when Joab returned, and smote of Edom in the valley of salt twelve thousand.

O God, ^athou hast cast us off, thou hast scattered us,

Thou hast been displeased; ^aaO turn thyself to us again.

²Thou hast made the earth to tremble; thou hast broken it:

^bHeal the breaches thereof; for it shaketh.

^3cThou hast shewed thy people hard things:

^dThou hast made us to drink the wine of ^eastonishment.

⁴Thou hast given ^fa banner to them that fear thee,

That it may be displayed because of ^gthe truth. Selah.

^5hThat ⁱthy beloved may be delivered;

Save with thy right hand, and ^khear me.

⁶God hath spoken ^lin his holiness;

I will rejoice, I will divide ^mShechem,

And ⁿmete out the valley of ^oSuccoth.

^7pGilead is mine, and Manasseh is mine;

^qEphraim also is ^qqthe strength of mine head;

Judah is ^rmy lawgiver;

^8sMoab is my washpot;

Over ^tEdom ^uwill I cast out my shoe:

^wPhilistia, triumph thou because of me.

⁹Who will bring me into the strong city?

Who will lead me into Edom?

¹⁰Wilt not thou, O God, which ^xhadst cast us off?

^xxAnd thou, O God, which didst not go out with our armies?

¹¹Give us help from trouble:

For vain is the help of man.

¹²Through God we shall ^ydo valiantly:

For he it is that shall ^ztread down our enemies.
