Psalm LXXXVII.

A Psalm or Song for the sons of Korah.

His afoundation is in bthe holy mountains.

2The Lord cloveth the gates of Zion

More than all the dwellings of Jacob.

3Glorious things are spoken of thee,

O dcity of God. Selah.

4I will make mention of eRahab and fBabylon gto them that know me:

Behold Philistia, and Tyre, with hEthiopia;

This man was born ithere.

5And of iZion it shall be said, This and that man was born in her:

And the Highest himself shall establish her.

6The Lord shall kcount, when he lwriteth up the people,

That this man was born there. Selah.

7As well the singers as the mplayers on instruments shall be there:

All my springs are in thee.

Psalm LXXXVIII.

A Song or Psalm for the sons of Korah. To the chief Musician upon Mahalath Lennoth, Maschil of Heman the Ezrahite.

O Lord aGod of my salvation,

I have bcried day and night before thee:

2Let my prayer come before thee:

cIncline thine ear unto my cry;

3For my soul is full of troubles:

And dmy life draweth nigh unto ethe grave.

4I am counted fwith them that go down into the pit:

I am as a man that hath no strength:

5Free among the dead,

Like the slain that lie in the grave,

Whom thou grememberest no more:

And they are hcut off from thy hand.

6Thou hast laid me in ithe lowest pit,

kIn darkness, in lthe deeps.

7Thy wrath lieth hard upon me,

And thou hast afflicted me with mall thy waves. Selah.

8Thou hast put away nmine acquaintance far from me;

Thou hast made me oan abomination unto them:

I am pshut up, qand I cannot come forth.

9rMine eye mourneth by reason of affliction:

Lord, sI have called daily upon thee,

tI have stretched out my hands unto thee.

10gWilt thou ushew wonders to the dead?

Shall xthe dead arise and praise thee? Selah.

11Shall thy lovingkindness gbe declared in the grave?

Or thy faithfulness in ydestruction?

12Shall zthy wonders be known in athe dark?

And thy righteousness in the land of bforgetfulness?

13But cunto thee have I cried, O Lord;

And din the morning shall my prayer eprevent thee.

14Lord, why fcastest thou off my soul?

Why ghidest thou thy face from me?

15I am afflicted and ready to die from my youth up:

While I suffer thy terrors I am distracted.

16Thy fierce wrath hgoeth over me;

Thy iterrors have cut me off.

17jThey came round about me daily like water;

They kcompassed me about together.

18lLover and friend mhast thou put far from me,

And mmine acquaintance into ndarkness.
