And he spake a parable unto them to this end, that men ought aalways to pray, and not bto faint; 2saying, There was in a city a judge, which feared not God, neither cregarded man: 3and there was a widow in that city; and she came unto him, saying, Avenge me of mine adversary. 4And he would not for a while: but afterward he said within himself, Though I fear not God, nor cregard man; d5yet because this widow troubleth me, I will avenge her, lest by her continual coming she eweary me. 6And the Lord said, Hear what fthe unjust judge saith. 7And gshall not God havenge his own ielect, which cry day and night unto him, though khe bear long with them? 8I tell you that he will havenge them lspeedily. Nevertheless when the Son of man cometh, shall he find faith on the earth?

9And he spake this parable unto certain mwhich trusted nin themselves that they were righteous, and despised other: 10Two men owent up into the temple to pray; the one a Pharisee, and the other a ppublican. 11The Pharisee qstood and prayed thus with himself, God, I thank thee, that I am not as other men are, rextortioners, unjust, adulterers, or even as this publican. 12I sfast twice in the week, I tgive tithes of all that I upossess. 13And the publican, qstanding afar off, xwould not lift up so much as his eyes unto heaven, but ysmote upon his breast, saying, God be merciful to me a sinner. 14I tell you, this man zwent down to his house ajustified rather than the other: for bevery one that exalteth himself shall be abased; and he that humbleth himself shall be exalted.

15cAnd they brought unto him also infants, that he would touch them: but when his disciples saw it, they rebuked them. 16But Jesus called them unto him, and said, Suffer little children to come unto me, and forbid them not: for of such is the kingdom of God. 17Verily I say unto you, Whosoever shall not receive the kingdom of God as a little child shall din no wise enter therein.

18eAnd a certain eeruler asked him, saying, Good fMaster, what shall I do to inherit eternal life? 19And Jesus said unto him, Why callest thou me good? none is good, save one, that is, God. 20Thou knowest the commandments, gDo not commit adultery, Do not kill, Do not steal, Do not bear false witness, Honour thy father and thy mother. 21And he said, All these have I kept from my youth up. 22Now when Jesus heard these things, he said unto him, Yet hlackest thou one thing: sell all that thou hast, and distribute unto the poor, and thou shalt have treasure in heaven: and come, follow me. 23And when he heard this, he was very sorrowful: for he was very rich. 24And when Jesus saw that he was very sorrowful, he said, How hardly shall they that have riches enter into the kingdom of God! 25For it is easier for a camel to go through a needle’s eye, than for a rich man to enter into the kingdom of God. 26And they that heard it said, Who then can be saved? 27And he said, The things which are unpossible with men are possible with God.

28Then Peter said, Lo, we have left all, and followed thee. 29And he said unto them, Verily I say unto you, There is no man that hath left house, or parents, or brethren, or wife, or children, for the kingdom of God’s sake, 30who shall not receive imanifold more jin this present time, and in the world to come life everlasting.

31kThen he took unto him the twelve, and said unto them, Behold, we go up to Jerusalem, and all things that are written lby the prophets concerning the Son of man shall be accomplished. 32For he shall be mdelivered unto the Gentiles, and shall be mocked, and mmspitefully entreated, and nspitted on: 33and they shall scourge him, and put him to death: and the third day he shall rise again. 34And they ounderstood none of these things: pand this saying was hid from them, neither knew they the things which were spoken.

35And it came to pass, that qas he was rcome nigh unto Jericho, a scertain blind man sat by the way side begging: 36and hearing the multitude pass by, he tasked what it meant. 37And they told him, that Jesus of Nazareth passeth by. 38And he cried, saying, Jesus, thou Son of David, have mercy on me. 39And they which went before urebuked him, that he should hold his peace: but he cried so much the more, Thou Son of David, have mercy on me. 40And Jesus stood, and commanded him to be brought unto him: and when he was come near, he asked him, 41saying, What wilt thou that I shall do unto thee? And he said, Lord, that I may receive my sight. 42And Jesus said unto him, Receive thy sight: thy faith hath xsaved thee. 43And immediately he received his sight, and followed him, yglorifying God: and zall the people, when they saw it, gave praise unto God.

XIX.And Jesus aentered and passed through Jericho. 2And behold, there was a man named bZaccheus, which was the chief among the publicans, and he was rich. 3And he sought cto see Jesus who he was; and could not for the press, because he was little of dstature. 4And he ran before, and climbed up into a esycomore tree to see him: for he was to pass that way. 5And when Jesus came to the place, he looked up, and saw him, and said unto him, Zaccheus, make haste, and come down; for to day I must fabide at thy house. 6And he made haste, and came down, and greceived him joyfully. 7And when they saw it, they all hmurmured, saying, hThat he was gone ito be guest with a man that is a sinner. 8And Zaccheus stood, and said unto the Lord; Behold, Lord, the half of my goods I give to the poor; and if I have ktaken any thing from any man kby false accusation, I restore him lfourfold. 9And Jesus said unto him, This day is salvation come to this house, mforsomuch as nhe also is oa son of Abraham. 10pFor the Son of man is come to qseek and to save that which was lost.

11And as they heard these things, he radded and spake a parable, because he was nigh to Jerusalem, and because sthey thought that the kingdom of God should immediately appear. 12He said therefore, tA certain unobleman wwent into a far country to receive for himself a kingdom, and to return. 13And he called his xten servants, and delivered them ten pounds, and said unto them, Occupy till I come. 14But yhis citizens hated him, and sent a message after him, saying, We will not have this man to reign over us. 15And it came to pass, that when he was returned, having received the kingdom, then he commanded these servants to be called unto him, to whom he had given the money, that he might know how much every man had gained by trading. 16Then came the first, saying, Lord, thy pound hath gained ten pounds. 17And he said unto him, Well, thou good servant: because thou hast been zfaithful in aa very little, have thou authority over ten cities. 18And the second came, saying, Lord, thy pound hath gained five pounds. 19And he said likewise to him, Be thou also over five cities. 20And another came, saying, Lord, behold, here is thy pound, which I have kept laid up in a bnapkin: 21cfor I feared thee, because thou art an daustere man: thou takest up that thou layedst not down, and reapest that thou didst not sow. 22And he saith unto him, eOut of thine own mouth will I judge thee, thou wicked servant. fThou knewest that I was an daustere man, taking up that I laid not down, and reaping that I did not sow: 23wherefore then gavest not thou my money into gthe bank, that at my coming I might have hrequired imine own with usury? 24And he said unto them that stood by, Take from him the pound, and give it to him that hath ten pounds. 25(And they said unto him, Lord, he hath ten pounds.) 26For I say unto you, kThat unto every one which hath shall be given; and from him that hath not, even that he hath shall be taken away from him. 27But those mine enemies, lwhich would not that I should reign over them, bring hither, and mslay them before me.

28And when he had thus spoken, nhe went before, oascending up to Jerusalem. 29And it came to pass, pwhen he was come nigh to Bethphage and Bethany, at the mount called the mount of Olives, he sent two of his disciples, 30saying, Go ye into the village over against you; in the which at your entering ye shall find a colt tied, whereon yet never man sat: loose him, and bring him hither. 31And if any man ask you, Why do ye loose him? thus shall ye say unto him, Because the Lord hath need of him. 32And they that were sent went their way, and found even as he had said unto them. 33And as they were loosing the colt, qthe owners thereof said unto them, Why loose ye the colt? 34And they said, The Lord hath need of him. 35And they brought him to Jesus: rand they cast their garments upon the colt, and they set Jesus thereon. 36And as he went, they spread their clothes in the way. 37And when he was come nigh, even now at the descent of the mount of Olives, the whole multitude of the disciples began to rejoice and spraise God with a loud voice for all the tmighty works that they had seen; 38saying, Blessed be uthe King that cometh in the name of the Lord: wpeace in heaven, and glory in the highest. 39xAnd some of the Pharisees from among the multitude said unto him, Master, rebuke thy disciples. 40And he answered and said unto them, I tell you that, if these should hold their peace, ythe stones would immediately cry out.

41And when zhe was come near, he beheld the city, and awept over it, 42saying, bIf thou hadst known, even thou, at least in this thy day, the things which belong unto thy peace! but now they are hid from thine eyes. 43For the days shall come upon thee, that thine enemies shall ccast a trench about thee, and dcompass thee round, and keep thee in on every side, 44and eshall lay thee even with the ground, and fthy children within thee: and gthey shall not leave in thee one stone upon another; because thou knewest not hthe time of thy ivisitation.

45jAnd he went into the temple, and began to cast out them that sold therein, and them that bought; 46saying unto them, It is written, k…
