Shinab (שִׁנְאָב, shin'av). The king of Admah. Part of the alliance against King Chedorlaomer that led to the capture of Lot (Gen 14:2–3). Shinab allied with the kings of Sodom and Gomorrah and the kings of two other cities (all of which were part of the Cities of the Plain) against four rival kings who were led by Chedorlaomer. Shinab and the other kings of the Cities of the Plain were defeated by Chedeorlaomer and his alliance, who in turn were ultimately defeated by Abraham (Gen 14:2–17).
