Sodom and the Cities of the Plain (סְדֹם, sedom; עָרֵי הַכִּכָּר, arey hakkikkar). Infamous wicked city and its neighboring cities destroyed by Yahweh in the days of Abraham and Lot. Sodom and the Cities of the Plain (more specifically, Cities of the Kikkar) serve as a geographical center of the Sodom narratives found in Genesis. After their destruction, Sodom and Gomorrah became a potent biblical metaphor symbolizing the wrath of God.
