7:16Their survivors will escape to the mountains and become like doves of the valleys; all of them will moan—each one for his iniquity. 7:17All of their hands will hang limp; their knees will be wet with urine.297:18They will wear sackcloth, terror will cover them; shame will be on all their faces, and all of their heads will be shaved bald.30
Footnotes
- 29 Heb “their knees will run with water.” The expression probably refers to urination caused by fright, which is how the renders the phrase. More colloquial English would simply be “they will wet their pants,” but as D. I. Block (Ezekiel [], 1:, n. 98) notes, the men likely wore skirts which were short enough to expose urine on the knees.
- 30 Heb “baldness will be on their heads.”

And if any survivors escape, they will be on the mountains, like doves of the valleys, all of them moaning, each one over his iniquity. All hands are feeble, and all knees turn to water. They put on sackcloth, and horror covers them. Shame is on all faces, and baldness on all their heads.

NIVNew International Version (2011)
The fugitives who escape
will flee to the mountains.
Like doves of the valleys,
they will all moan,
each for their own sins.
Every hand will go limp;
every leg will be wet with urine.
They will put on sackcloth
and be clothed with terror.
Every face will be covered with shame,
and every head will be shaved.

The survivors among them will escape
and live on the mountains.
Like doves of the valley,
all of them will moan,
each over his own iniquity.
All their hands will become weak,
and all their knees will run with urine.
They will put on sackcloth,
and horror will overwhelm them.
Shame will cover all their faces,
and all their heads will be bald.

The survivors who escape to the mountains
will moan like doves, weeping for their sins.
Their hands will hang limp,
their knees will be weak as water.
They will dress themselves in burlap;
horror and shame will cover them.
They will shave their heads
in sorrow and remorse.

And if their survivors will escape, they will be on the mountains, like the doves of the valley, all of them groaning, each because of his guilt. All of the hands will hang limp, and all of the knees will be wet with urine. And they will wear sackcloth, and horror will cover them, and on all of the faces will be shame, and baldness on all of their heads.

But they that escape of them shall escape, and shall be on the mountains like doves of the valleys, all of them mourning, every one for his iniquity.
