Psalm 28:1–9

¹To You, O Lord, I call;

My ^arock, do not be deaf to me,

For if You ^bare silent to me,

I will become like those who ^cgo down to the pit.

²Hear the ^avoice of my supplications when I cry to You for help,

When I ^blift up my hands ^ctoward ¹Your holy ^dsanctuary.

^3aDo not drag me away with the wicked

And with those who work iniquity,

Who ^bspeak peace with their neighbors,

While evil is in their hearts.

⁴Requite them ^aaccording to their work and according to the evil of their practices;

Requite them according to the deeds of their hands;

Repay them their ¹recompense.

⁵Because they ^ado not regard the works of the Lord

Nor the deeds of His hands,

He will tear them down and not build them up.

⁶Blessed be the Lord,

Because He ^ahas heard the voice of my supplication.

⁷The Lord is my ^astrength and my ^bshield;

My heart ^ctrusts in Him, and I am helped;

Therefore ^dmy heart exults,

And with ^emy song I shall thank Him.

⁸The Lord is ¹their ^astrength,

And He is a ^2bsaving defense to His anointed.

^9aSave Your people and bless ^bYour inheritance;

Be their ^cshepherd also, and ^dcarry them forever.
