Thou therefore, amy son, bbe strong in the grace that is in Christ Jesus. 2And the things cthat thou hast heard of me among many witnesses, the same decommit thou to ffaithful men, who shall be gable to teach others also. 3Thou therefore hendure hardness, as ia good soldier of Jesus Christ. 4No jman that warreth kentangleth himself with the affairs of this life; that he may please him who hath chosen him to be a soldier. 5And lif a man also strive for masteries, yet is he not llcrowned, except he strive lawfully. 6mThe husbandman that laboureth must be first partaker of the fruits. 7Consider what I say; and mmthe Lord give thee understanding in all things. 8Remember that Jesus Christ nof the seed of David nnwas raised from the dead oaccording to my gospel: 9pwherein hI suffer trouble, as an evil doer, qeven unto bonds; but rthe word of God is not bound. 10Therefore I endure all things sfor tthe elects’ sakes, that they may also obtain uthe salvation which is in Christ Jesus with veternal glory. 11wIt is a faithful saying: For if xwe be dead with him, we shall also live with him: 12yif we suffer, we shall also zreign with him: aif we deny him, he also will deny us: 13bif we believe not, yet che abideth faithful: dhe cannot deny himself.
