Zedekiah, King of Judah (צִדְקִיָּה, tsidqiyyah; צִדְקִיָּהוּ, tsidqiyyahu). The last king of Judah, who came to the throne when King Jehoiachin was exiled to Babylon. Zedekiah was only 21 when he became king, reigning 11 years (597–586 bc). He was the son of Hamutal, daughter of Jeremiah from Libna, and the third son of King Josiah (1 Chr 3:15)—thus, the brother of the former kings Jehoahaz and Jehoiakim and uncle of King Jehoiachin.
