Jehoiakim, King of Judah (יְהוֹיָקִים, yehoyaqim). Son of King Josiah and Zebidah who reigned over Judah from 609–598 bc. Originally named Eliakim, he was given the regnal name Jehoiakim by Pharaoh Neco. Although Josiah had been faithful to Yahweh, Jehoiakim was considered to have done evil in His eyes (2 Chr 36:5).
