“I will trouble the hearts of many peoples, when I bring your destruction among the nations, into the countries that you have not known. I will make many peoples appalled at you, and the hair of their kings shall bristle with horror because of you, when I brandish my sword before them. They shall tremble every moment, every one for his own life, on the day of your downfall.

NIVNew International Version (2011)

I will trouble the hearts of many peoples

when I bring about your destruction among the nations,

among lands you have not known.

I will cause many peoples to be appalled at you,

and their kings will shudder with horror because of you

when I brandish my sword before them.

On the day of your downfall

each of them will tremble

every moment for his life.

CSBChristian Standard Bible

“ ‘I will trouble the hearts of many peoples,

when I bring about your destruction

among the nations,

in countries you have not known.

I will cause many peoples to be appalled at you,

and their kings will shudder with fear because of you

when I brandish my sword in front of them.

On the day of your downfall

each of them will tremble

every moment for his life.

NLTNew Living Translation

“I will disturb many hearts when I bring news of your downfall to distant nations you have never seen. Yes, I will shock many lands, and their kings will be terrified at your fate. They will shudder in fear for their lives as I brandish my sword before them on the day of your fall.

LEBThe Lexham English Bible

“And I will disturb the hearts of many peoples

at my bringing about your captivity among the nations,

to countries that you do not know.

And I will cause many peoples to be awestruck over you,

and their kings will shudder over you in horror,

at my brandishing my sword before their faces,

and they will tremble continually,

each person for his life,

on the day of your downfall.”
