Revelation 21:1–8

The New Creation

21Then I saw a new heaven and a new earth, ^pfor the first heaven and the first earth had passed away, ^qand the sea no longer existed. ^r2I also saw the Holy City, ^snew Jerusalem, coming down out of heaven from God, ^tprepared like a bride adorned for her husband. ^u

³Then I heard a loud voice ^vfrom the throne: ^wx

Look! God’s dwelling ^yis with humanity,

and He will live with them.

They will be His people, ^z

and God Himself will be with them

and be their God. ^a

⁴He will wipe away every tear from their eyes. ^b

Death will no longer exist; ^c

grief, crying, and pain will exist no longer, ^d

because the previous things ^ehave passed away. ^f

⁵Then the One seated on the throne said, “Look! I am making everything new.” He also said, “Write, because these words ^gare faithful and true.” ^h6And He said to me, “It is done! ⁱI am the Alpha and the Omega, ^jthe Beginning and the End. ^kI will give water as a gift to the thirsty ^lfrom the spring of life. ^m7The victor ⁿwill inherit these things, and I will be his God, and he will be My son. ^o8But the cowards, unbelievers, ^pvile, murderers, sexually immoral, sorcerers, idolaters, and all liars ^q—their share will be in the lake that burns with fire and sulfur, ^rwhich is the second death.” ^s
