Ask ye aof the Lord rain in the time of bthe latter rain;

So the Lord shall make bright clouds,

And cgive them showers of rain,

To every one grass in the field.

2For dthe idols have spoken vanity,

And ethe diviners have seen a lie,

And fhave told efalse dreams;

gThey comfort din vain:

Therefore they went their way as a flock,

They were troubled, hbecause there was no shepherd.

3Mine anger was kindled against the shepherds,

And I punished ithe goats:

For the Lord of hosts khath visited his flock the house of Judah,

And hath made them las his goodly horse in the battle.

4Out of him came forth mthe corner, out of him nthe nail,

Out of him othe battle bow, out of him every poppressor together.

5And qthey shall be as mighty men, rwhich tread down their enemies

rrIn the mire of the streets in the battle:

And they shall fight, sbecause the Lord is with them,

And ttthe riders on horses ushall be confounded.

6And vI will strengthen the house of Judah,

And vwI will save the house of Joseph,

And vwI will bring them again to place them; for I yhave mercy upon them:

And they shall be as though I had not cast them off:

For I am the Lord their God, and zwill hear them.

7And they of Ephraim shall be qlike a mighty man,

And atheir heart shall rejoice as through wine:

Yea, their children shall see it, and bbe glad;

Their heart bshall rejoice in the Lord.

8cI will hiss for them, and dgather them; for dI have redeemed them:

And ethey shall increase fas they have increased.

9And gI will sow them among the people:

And hthey shall remember me in far countries;

And they shall live with their children, and turn again.

10I will bring them again also iout of the land of Egypt,

And gather them iout of Assyria;

And I will bring them into the land of jkGilead and jlLebanon;

And mplace shall not be found for them.

11And nhe shall pass through the sea with affliction,

And shall smite the waves in the sea,

And all the deeps of othe river shall dry up:

And the pride of Assyria shall be brought down,

And pthe sceptre of Egypt shall depart away.

12And qI will strengthen them in the Lord;

And rthey shall walk up and down in his name, saith the Lord.

XI.Open thy doors, aO Lebanon, that bthe fire may devour thy cedars.

2cHowl, fir tree; bfor the cedar is fallen; because the mighty are spoiled:

cHowl, dO ye oaks of Bashan; for ethe forest of gthe vintage is come down.

3There is a voice of chthe howling of the shepherds; for their glory is spoiled:

A voice of the roaring of iyoung lions; for jthe pride of Jordan is spoiled.

4Thus saith the Lord my God; kFeed the flock of lthe slaughter;

5Whose mpossessors lslay them, and nhold themselves not guilty:

And they that sell them say, Blessed be the Lord; for oI am rich:

And their own shepherds pity them not.

6For pI will no more pity the inhabitants of the land, saith the Lord:

But lo, I will deliver the men

Every one into his neighbour’s hand, and into the hand of his king:

And they shall smite the land, and out of their hand I will not deliver them.

7And kI will feed the flock of slaughter, even you, rO poor of the flock.

And I took unto me two staves; the one I called sBeauty, and the other I called Bands; and ktI fed the flock. 8Three shepherds also uI cut off in one month; and my soul lothed them, and their soul also abhorred me. 9Then said I, I will not feed you: vthat that dieth, let it die; and that that is to ube cut off, let it be ucut off; and let the rest weat every one the flesh of another. 10And I took my staff, even sBeauty, and cut it asunder, that I might break my covenant which I had made with all the people. 11And it was broken in that day: and so rthe poor of the flock xthat waited upon me knew that it was the word of the Lord. 12And I said unto them, If ye think good, ygive me my price; and if not, forbear. So zthey weighed for my price athirty pieces of silver. 13And the Lord said unto me, Cast it unto bthe potter: ca dgoodly price that I was prised at of them. And I took athe thirty pieces of silver, and cast them to the potter in the house of the Lord. 14Then I cut asunder mine other staff, even Bands, that I might break the brotherhood between Judah and Israel.

15And the Lord said unto me, Take unto thee yet the instruments of a foolish shepherd.

16For, lo, I will raise up a shepherd in the land,

eWhich shall not visit those that be cut off,

eNeither shall seek the young one,

eNor fheal that that is broken,

Nor gfeed that that standeth still:

But hhe shall eat the flesh of the fat,

And tear their claws in pieces.

17Woe to ithe idol shepherd hkthat leaveth the flock!

The sword shall be upon his arm, and upon lhis right eye:

His arm shall be clean dried up,

And lhis right eye shall be utterly darkened.

XII.aThe burden of the word of the Lord for Israel, saith the Lord,

bWhich stretcheth forth the heavens, and clayeth the foundation of the earth,

And bdformeth the spirit of man within him.

2Behold, eI will make Jerusalem fa cup of gtrembling unto all the people round about,

When they shall be in the siege both against Judah and against Jerusalem.

3And hin that day will I make Jerusalem ia burdensome stone for all people:

jAll that burden themselves with it shall be cut in pieces,

kThough all the people of the earth be gathered together against it.

4hIn that day, saith the Lord,

lI will smite every horse with mastonishment, and his rider with mmadness:

And nI will open mine eyes upon the house of Judah,

And lwill smite every horse of the people with mblindness.

5And othe governors of Judah shall say in their heart,

The inhabitants of Jerusalem shall be my strength

In the Lord of hosts their God.

6hIn that day will I make othe governors of Judah plike a hearth of fire among the wood,

And like a torch of fire in a sheaf;

And qthey shall devour all the people round about, on the right hand and on the left:

And rJerusalem shall be inhabited again sin her own place, even in Jerusalem.

7The Lord also shall save the tents of Judah first,

That the glory of the house of David

And the glory of the inhabitants of Jerusalem

Do not magnify themselves against Judah.

8hIn that day shall the Lord tdefend the inhabitants of Jerusalem;

And uhe that is feeble among them hat that day shall be as David;

And the house of David shall be as God,

As vthe angel of the Lord before them.

9And it shall come to pass hin that day,

That I will seek wto destroy all the nations

That come against Jerusalem.

10And xI will pour upon the house of David, and upon the inhabitants of Jerusalem,

The spirit of grace and of ysupplications:

And zthey shall look upon me whom they ahave pierced,

And bthey shall mourn for him, as cone mourneth for dhis only son,

And shall be cin bitterness for him, as one that is in bitterness for his firstborn.

11eIn that day fshall there be a great mourning in Jerusalem,

gAs the mourning of Hadad hrimmon in the valley of iMegiddon.

12And fthe land shall mourn, kevery family apart;

The family of the house of David apart, and kltheir wives apart;

The family of the house of mNathan apart, and their wives apart;

13The family of the house of Levi apart, and their wives apart;

The family of nShimei apart, and their wives apart;

14All the families that remain,

Every family apart, and their wives apart.

XIII.aIn that day there shall be ba fountain opened

To the house of David and to the inhabitants of Jerusalem

cFor sin and for uncleanness.

2And it shall come to pass ain that day, saith the Lord of hosts,

That dI will cut off ethe names of the idols out of the land,

And fthey shall no more be remembered:

And also I will gcause the prophets and hthe unclean spirit to pass out of the land.

3And it shall come to pass, that when any shall yet prophesy,

Then his father and his mother that begat him shall say unto him, Thou shalt not live;

For thou speakest lies in the name of the Lord:

And ihis father and his mother that begat him kshall thrust him through when he prophesieth.

4And it shall come to pass ain that day,

That the prophets lshall be ashamed every one lof his vision, when he hath prophesied;

Neither mshall they wear a rough garment to deceive:

5But he shall say, nI am no prophet, I am a husbandman;

For man taught me to keep cattle from my youth.

6And one shall say unto him, What are othese wounds in thine hands?

Then he shall answer, Those owith which I was wounded in the house of my friends.

7Awake, O sword, against pmy shepherd, and against qthe man that is rmy fellow,

Saith the Lord of hosts:

stSmite the shepherd, and the sheep shall be scattered:

And I will turn mine hand upon uthe little ones.

8And it shall come to pass, that in all the land, saith the Lord,

vTwo parts therein shall be cut off and die;

But wthe third shall be left therein.

9And I will bring wthe third part through the fire,

And xwill yrefine them as silver is refined,

And xwill ztry them as gold is tried:

aThey shall call on my name, and bI will hear them:

I cwill say, It is my people:

cAnd they shall say, The Lord is my God.

XIV.aBehold, the day of the Lord cometh,

And thy spoil shall be divided in the midst of thee.

2For bI will gather all nations against Jerusalem to battle;

And cthe city shall be taken, and dthe houses rifled, and dethe women ravished;

And fhalf of the city shall go forth into captivity,

And fthe residue of the people shall not be cut off from the city.

3Then shall the Lord go forth, and fight against those nations,

gAs when he fought in the day of battle.

4And his feet shall stand hin that day upon ithe mount of Olives,

Which is before Jerusalem on the east,

And the mount of Olives shall cleave in the midst thereof toward the east and toward the west,

And there shall be ka very great valley;

And half of the mountain shall lremove toward the north,

And half of it toward the south.

5And ye shall flee to the valley of the mountains;

For kthe valley of the mountains shall reach unto Azal:

Yea, ye shall flee, like as ye fled from before mthe earthquake

In the days of…
