11Ye shall conceive chaff, ye shall bring forth stubble: your breath is a fire that shall devour you. 12And the peoples shall be as the burnings of lime, as thorns cut down, that are burned in the fire.
13Hear, ye that are far off, what I have done; and, ye that are near, acknowledge my might. 14The sinners in Zion are afraid; trembling hath seized the godless ones: Who among us can dwell with the devouring fire? who among us can dwell with everlasting burnings?

You conceive chaff; you give birth to stubble;
your breath is a fire that will consume you.
And the peoples will be as if burned to lime,
like thorns cut down, that are burned in the fire.”
Hear, you who are far off, what I have done;
and you who are near, acknowledge my might.
The sinners in Zion are afraid;
trembling has seized the godless:

Who among us can dwell with everlasting burnings?”

You conceive chaff,
you give birth to straw;
your breath is a fire that consumes you.
The peoples will be burned to ashes;
like cut thornbushes they will be set ablaze.”
You who are far away, hear what I have done;
you who are near, acknowledge my power!
The sinners in Zion are terrified;
trembling grips the godless:
“Who of us can dwell with the consuming fire?
Who of us can dwell with everlasting burning?”

NLTNew Living Translation
You Assyrians produce nothing but dry grass and stubble.
Your own breath will turn to fire and consume you.
Your people will be burned up completely,
like thornbushes cut down and tossed in a fire.
Listen to what I have done, you nations far away!
And you that are near, acknowledge my might!”
The sinners in Jerusalem shake with fear.
Terror seizes the godless.
“Who can live with this devouring fire?” they cry.
“Who can survive this all-consuming fire?”
