Psalm 14. The children of men, who boast of their strength (cf. Ps 9:19) and have no regard for God (cf. 10:11), think that their lies will gain them success (cf. Ps 12:3–4), and they use God’s silence to demoralize the believer (cf. Ps 13:2, 5). Now they are depicted as not only wicked, but foolish and ignorant (Ps 14).
