Psalm 11056

A psalm of David.

110:1 Here is the Lord’s proclamation1 to my lord:2

“Sit down at my right hand3 until I make your enemies your footstool!”4

110:2 The Lord5 extends6 your dominion7 from Zion.

Rule in the midst of your enemies!

110:3 Your people willingly follow you8 when you go into battle.9

On the holy hills10 at sunrise11 the dew of your youth12 belongs to you.13

110:4 The Lord makes this promise on oath14 and will not revoke it:15

“You are an eternal priest16 after the pattern of17 Melchizedek.”18

110:5 O sovereign Lord,19 at your right hand

he strikes down20 kings in the day he unleashes his anger.21

110:6 He executes judgment22 against23 the nations;

he fills the valleys with corpses;24

he shatters their heads over the vast battlefield.25

110:7 From the stream along the road he drinks;

then he lifts up his head.26
