(5:22–32) The temple police discover that the apostles have escaped a secure prison cell (5:22–23). A tip leads them to the apostles in the temple, where they are arrested again (5:24–26). The council interrogates the apostles, who are accused of disobeying the order to refrain from teaching in Jesus’ name (5:27–28). Peter and the apostles answer that they must obey God, and they indict the Jewish leaders for their part in the murder of the Jesus whom God raised and exalted
