John MacEvilly’s exposition of the Pauline and Catholic Epistles offers a clear, Catholic, passage-by-passage interpretation of the text. 9. “And lying wonders.” The word “lying” is understood of his miracles, as regards their object and effect, which are, to lead men astray and confirm error. Because a miracle as such, or as viewed in the light of a testimony, is a seal of the truth of things, which it is adduced to confirm.
