Among the authors that have been suggested from time to time are: Lazarus, whom Jesus raised from the dead; Nicodemus; the young man whom Mark reported as having fled naked from the scene of Jesus’ arrest (Mk. 14:52); an unknown mystic of the 2nd cent.; JOHN THE APOSTLE; and John the presbyter of Ephesus.
