the whole truth. Hezekiah admitted that Assyria destroyed other nations and their gods but claimed that it was because they were false gods (2 Kgs. 19:17; Isa. 37:18). Job admitted the truth of his friends’ sayings but claimed that they did not see the whole truth (Job 9:2; 12:2, 19:4, 5). Eliphaz used the word to deny negative statements about God and himself (Job 34:12; 36:4).
