Life’s most important question can be phrased in various ways. In the Old Testament Job asked, “How can a man be in the right before God?” The young ruler confronted Christ with, “What shall I do to obtain eternal life?” And the Philippian jailor in terror asked, “What must I do to be saved?” Sadly, though we have had the New Testament for almost twenty centuries, Christendom still gives an unclear answer to this question. Yet our destiny in heaven or hell depends on the correctness of the answer.
