3:14–15. God is a just God, so He proceeded to pronounce judgment on the serpent, the woman, and the man. First He put a curse on the serpent to cause it to crawl on the ground (snakes do have rudimentary legs that now do not develop, a fact that seems to fit the curse). God would also put enmity between the woman and the serpent. Though Adam and Eve had joined Satan and left God, God would restore them and separate them from Satan. The woman would then hate the serpent for what he had done to her.
