But further: “They went down both into the water, both Philip and the eunuch, and he baptized him.” Why did they both go down into the water if that was not the element to be employed in administering the sacred ordinance? Again, let us consider the language of Peter in the house of Cornelius: “Can any man forbid water, that these should not be baptized, which have received the Holy Ghost as well as we?” Acts 10:47.
