Alas, her love was a peripheral kind of love, a weak, watery love, a love so flat, so insipid, so shallow, so wanting in fervor and flavor that it is scarcely love at all. That seems to be the key to Michal’s story. Her relationship with David was anything but a satisfactory one. It was one of outward profession rather than one of true inward heart commitment.
