Christ’s love is the sun and our love is the moonlight, which we are able to give forth because the sun hath looked upon us. There are not so many hours in a year as there may be thoughts in an hour. I think that it is always better to get the place quite full. It breeds a kind of enthusiasm. When religion is at a discount and godliness is derided, then hypocrites and unsound professors desert the cause. It is astonishing what a little shake will get rid of the commonplace members of our churches.
