This passage divides into the binding of Satan for a thousand years (20:1–3), the reign of Christ and the saints for that period (20:4–6), and the loosing of Satan, a rebellion, and its defeat at the end of the period (20:7–10). 20:1–3: And I saw an angel descending out of heaven, having the key to the abyss and a big chain on his hand. 2 And he grabbed the dragon—the ancient serpent, who is the Devil and Satan—and bound him [with the chain] for a thousand years
