He showed interest in membership, but when he stood before the membership committee he flunked his membership entrance exam. (I don’t know if you’ve ever taken one of those, but that is hard to do.) He flunked his membership entrance exam because they asked him the question, “What has Christ done for you?” and he thought for a moment and said “I know he’s done a lot for me, but I cannot think of one thing.”
